  1. Alabama
  2. Oregon
  3. Texas A&M
  4. Notre Dame
  5. Georgia
  6. Florida
  7. Ohio State
  8. Stanford
  9. South Carolina
  10. Clemson

  11. Top 1-10 Analysis

As stated in early Decemeber, Nick Satan is money in the title game; Alabama has earned another championship and dynasty status. But I think the Crimson Tide will miss out on the title game next year, and another SEC power will knock off the champs.

I think Oregon is the second-best team in the nation and it would have been great to have a playoff where the Crimson Tide had to defend the Ducks' offense. It would have provided Satan another opportunity to be a crybaby about fast-paced offenses.

I'm ranking Texas A&M third because, right now, I think the Aggies are playing the best football of any team in the nation. They beat Alabama on the road and I think in a rematch on a neutral field Texas A&M could easily beat the champs again.

Notre Dame still had a great season to restore the Fighting Irish as a premier program in the nation. The school's fans should be proud and optimistic. Ditto for Florida, despite the disappointing bowl loss. The Gators had the toughest schedule in the nation and finished 11-2. Look at the list of good teams they beat: LSU, South Carolina, Florida State and Texas A&M - those last two on the road. That is four wins over schools in the top 11. No other team can make that claim. Georgia deserves a spot in the top five, and played Alabama tougher than Notre Dame.

Texas A&M, Florida and Georgia have all played much tougher schedules than Ohio State. On a neutral field, I think any of those three teams would beat the Buckeyes. Thus, I have Ohio State ranked behind them. That being said, the Buckeyes are going to be really good in the next couple of years and I expect them to contend for the national title.

Stanford and South Carolina are hard-nosed football teams which can compete with any team in the top 10, the Cardinal especially. Clemson really made a statement with its win over LSU. That was an impressive win from the Tigers, so maybe the ACC has some hope heading into 2013.

  12. Florida State
  13. Kansas State
  14. Louisville
  15. LSU
  16. Oklahoma
  17. Utah State
  18. Northwestern
  19. San Jose State
  20. Boise State
  21. Oregon State

  22. Top 11-20 Analysis

Florida State won the crappy ACC. That is nothing to brag about and neither is beating Northern Illinois in the Orange Bowl. The Seminoles are losing a lot heading into next season. So is Kansas State, which could lead to the Wildcats being an unranked team at the end of 2013.

Louisville made a statement by smacking Florida around in the Sugar Bowl. The Cardinals are going to be tough next year, and Teddy Bridgewater could be the best passing quarterback in college football.

LSU and Oklahoma were beaten in their bowl games. The Tigers lost late to Clemson, while the Sooners were dominated by Texas A&M. Both LSU and Oklahoma are in rebuilding mode next year.

Utah State finished 11-2 with an strong year. Northwestern (10-3) was one of the most underrated programs in the nation and played consistent football all season. The Wildcats' bowl win over Mississippi State was impressive. Boise State and San Jose State both only lost two games.

Oregon State finished 9-4 and should've beaten Texas in the Alamo Bowl. The Beavers are a tough team.

  23. Vanderbilt
  24. Northern Illinois
  25. Nebraska
  26. Michigan
  27. Baylor

  28. Close but not close enough: UCLA, Texas, Penn State, Oklahoma State, Louisiana Tech, BYU

    Top 21-25 and Close-Calls Analysis

Vanderbilt (9-4) is a program on the rise and won't be an SEC push over in 2013. The Commodores played good teams tough all year. Northern Illinois lost to Florida State, as expected, but kept it close until the fourth quarter. Nebraska and Michigan lost to good SEC teams in bowl games.

Baylor was left unranked in the top 25 nationally, but the Bears deserve to be ranked as they finished the year as one of the hotter teams in the nation. Baylor beat Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and UCLA to close out their season. The Bears are definitely on the rise.

Best of the rest: Wisconsin, Rutgers, Washington, Arizona, Fresno State, Cincinnati, TCU

I think this team ur making fun of has some tools.the QB is good and the coach is,oh yeah, former SEC Coordinator!also they almost look like the team to beat in their conference.to be bold I think they'd rage on Okie State this year.florida?ok I won't get that bold but they are one of the 10 best 'mid majors' out there.

Anyone that thinks Ohio St would beat Notre Dame should find a new hobby. Following sports isn't for you. They gave up like 40some points to Indiana.

Ohio St probably doesnt deserve to be in the top 10, they suck. Florida St doesnt either ( another weak schedule) and they are getting exposed by a garbage Va Tech team now.
