  1. Cleveland Browns: Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
As it stands now, the four candidates or the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft are Myles Garrett, Jonathan Allen, DeShone Kizer and Mitch Trubisky. The Browns obviously need a quarterback, and I believe Trubisky is what Hue Jackson is looking for. Trubisky has his flaws, but he’s very accurate and has a quick release. Jackson may envision Trubisky as his new Andy Dalton.

However, Adam Schefter has reported that the Browns have an “astronomical grade” on Garrett, which is interesting. Cleveland needs a pass-rusher as well, and Garrett would be an enormous upgrade.

The question is, would the Browns take Garrett over Trubisky when they’re desperate for a franchise quarterback? Well, there is precedent for this, as the Texans picked Jadeveon Clowney when they really needed a signal-caller in the 2014 NFL Draft. Houston simply had Clowney way above all the quarterbacks, and that could be the case with Cleveland and Garrett.

  2. San Francisco 49ers: Mitch Trubisky, QB, North Carolina
Unless Myles Garrett is available, the 49ers are almost certain to pick a quarterback. DeShone Kizer seems to be the No. 1 quarterback for most teams, based on some conversations we’ve had with team sources. However, not every franchise has Kizer at the top, as there is one that prefers Trubisky. It’s not necessarily the 49ers, but it could be depending on whether or not Chip Kelly remains head coach of the team.

Kelly loves accuracy and quick decision-making from his quarterbacks, so I don’t see why he’d choose Kizer over Trubisky, when the latter has all of the traits he desires from his quarterbacks. Of course, if the 49ers rightfully fire Kelly and bring in someone else, the preference could switch to Kizer. It’s obviously still way early in the draft process, so we’ll just have to see how it all unfolds.

  3. Chicago Bears: DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame
The Jay Cutler era will officially be over when the Bears select a quarterback in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. You could argue that it’s already over in the wake of Cutler’s torn labrum. Either way, Chicago will be hunting for a new signal-caller, and if it can’t land Tony Romo, it’ll certainly consider DeShone Kizer at this juncture.

As mentioned earlier, some teams view Kizer as the top quarterback in this class, and they had him rated higher than Deshaun Watson and Brad Kaaya prior to those two struggling. They liked Kizer because of his arm strength, mobility and upside.

  4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jonathan Allen, DE/DT, Alabama
Despite their six sacks of Andrew Luck in the London game, the Jaguars don’t pressure the quarterback consistently. They have some promising edge rushers in Dante Fowler and Yannick Ngakoue, and while they could strengthen that position, they could also stand to bolster the interior of the defensive front.

Jonathan Allen is currently in the top five of our 2017 NFL Draft Big Board, as he has been dominant this year. In fact, he should have won the Heisman over Lamar Jackson, as he was the best player in the country.

  5. Tennessee Titans: Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida
The Titans stop the run well and get after the quarterback pretty consistently, but the major area of weakness in their defense is the secondary. Both cornerback and safety need to be addressed, so why not take the best player available who happens to satisfy one of those two major needs?

I hadn’t listed Quincy Wilson in my 2017 NFL Mock Draft a few updates ago because he hasn’t started for very long, so I thought he might return to school. However, Charlie Campbell reported in the NFL Draft Rumor Mill that both Wilson and Jalen Tabor plan to declare early, and I’d have to believe that some team will fall in love with Wilson’s immense talent level and select him in the top 10.

  6. New York Jets: Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
I’d love to give the Jets a quarterback at No. 6 overall, but there are no other first-rounders available at the position. And yes, I’m aware that I haven’t listed Deshaun Watson yet. Multiple teams, including those that don’t need a signal-caller, have told us that they grade Watson in the second or third round. Thus, Watson could drop during the 2017 NFL Draft, much like Teddy Bridgewater did a couple of years ago. Charlie Campbell was the first to report that most teams didn’t have Bridgewater as a first-round prospect – even before Bridgewater’s pro day – and he’s the first to say the same about Watson.

With that in mind, I’m giving the Jets the top player available, and that would be Leonard Fournette. Matt Forte had played well before battling the Patriots, but he’s just a temporary solution at running back. New York’s offense would improve tremendously with Fournette in the backfield. Fournette is too good to pass on, as he would’ve been considered the top running back prospect since Adrian Peterson if it weren’t for Todd Gurley.

  7. San Diego Chargers: Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama
The Chargers haven’t been afraid to select a player with slight character concerns, so they won’t pass on Cam Robinson for that reason. Robinson would be a huge help for the Chargers, as they have severe blocking issues up front. King Dunlap and Joe Barksdale have both regressed this year, so San Diego has to find a new tackle to help protect Philip Rivers as he enters his final seasons in the NFL.

  8. Cincinnati Bengals: Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
Cincinnati’s defense has improved as the season has progressed, thanks to Vontaze Burfict rounding into shape. However, the Bengals still don’t have a potent pass rush on the edge, as Carlos Dunlap is the team’s sole dynamic defensive end. Finding a bookend for Dunlap would be nice, and Derek Barnett, who just enjoyed a terrific 2016 campaign, makes a ton of sense.

  9. Carolina Panthers: Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State
If the Panthers are truly serious about taking the best player on their board – and they’ve utilized that strategy so far – then they’ll surely pick Dalvin Cook. The Florida State running back has some great support, with people believing that he’ll be chosen prior to Leonard Fournette. Jonathan Stewart is still a quality runner, but he turns 30 this March, so Carolina might envision Cook as Cam Newton’s backfield partner for the next 8-10 years.

  10. Cleveland Browns: Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State
The Browns have some of the worst secondary play in the NFL. In fact, it’s probably the absolute worst. There are problems both at cornerback and safety. Regarding the former, one of my readers called Joe Haden the “oldest 27-year-old on the planet” because of all the injuries he’s incurred over the years. Haden is no longer reliable, so Cleveland will have to think about finding a new No. 1 cornerback.

  11. Arizona Cardinals: Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
The Cardinals have a very good defense, but they have a couple of liabilities. One happens to be at inside linebacker, which they’ll have a great opportunity to fill because there are two dynamic inside linebacker prospects who could be chosen in the top 15.

Pick change; previously Marlon Humphrey, CB

  12. Buffalo Bills: Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama
Stephon Gilmore’s contract is set to expire in March. Gilmore had been an outstanding cornerback in recent years, but he has been absolutely horrible in 2016. The Bills now have a difficult decision to make regarding Gilmore, and I imagine that they’ll franchise tag him. Either way, Buffalo will certainly consider a cornerback if it can obtain a quality prospect at the position.

Pick change; previously Jamal Adams, S

  13. Indianapolis Colts: Malik McDowell, DE/DT, Michigan State
The Colts have issues all over their defense, so they may as well begin finding improvements up front. They’re very weak on the defensive line, as Kendall Langford is done, while Arthur Jones was one of many Ryan Grigson free-agent gems, doing nothing despite signing a $33 million contract. Jones is as good as gone, so Indianapolis needs a new five-technique.

  14. Philadelphia Eagles: Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
I had a difficult time deciding between Mike Williams and Adoree Jackson. Both are excellent prospects who would fill colossal needs for the Eagles. Ultimately, I decided on Williams because there are plenty of decent cornerback options in the second round. Williams, who has drawn comparisons to Andre Johnson, would be the No. 1 receiver Carson Wentz desperately needs.

  15. New Orleans Saints: Zach Cunningham, LB, Vanderbilt
I still can’t believe the Saints signed James Laurinaitis. Did they not watch how horrible he was for the Rams? Seriously, what were they thinking? They can make amends by selecting Zach Cunningham, a dynamic linebacker prospect who has a decent chance of being chosen in the top 15.

  16. Tennessee Titans: Jamal Adams, S, LSU
As mentioned in Tennessee’s earlier pick write-up, the Titans have to address both positions in their miserable secondary. I’m sure they’d love to grab one of the top cornerbacks and then obtain one of the top two safeties in the class in Jamal Adams.

Pick change; previously Corey Davis, WR
