NFL Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings

To differentiate between all the "Start 'Ems" on my Fantasy Football Start Em, Sit Em page, you can check out the Weekly Fantasy Football Rankings, so you can figure out whom to start between Player X and Player Y.

Below are my fantasy RB rankings and a set of links for my positional Weekly NFL Fantasy Football Rankings. Keep in mind that this list is for this week only; not the entire rest of the season. If you don't like my rankings, check out Chet's fantasy football rankings.

The rankings are based on a PPR scoring system. Each player has Walterfootball.com's projected stats and standard scoring points.

But who do I start...

Updated - Follow @walterfootball for updates.
  1. Todd Gurley, RB, Rams (vs. Packers)- 31 Points
100 Rushing Yards, 5 Catches, 40 Receiving Yards, 2 TDs.
Todd Gurley will continue to tally tons of touchdowns in a potential shootout.

  2. Kareem Hunt, RB, Chiefs (vs. Broncos)- 27 Points
120 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 50 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Broncos struggle to stop the run, so Kareem Hunt could be the top running back this week.

  3. Alvin Kamara, RB, Saints (at Vikings)- 26 Points
60 Rushing Yards, 6 Catches, 80 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
Alvin Kamara will see more touches this week, and the matchup is much easier.

  4. James Conner, RB, Steelers (vs. Browns)- 25 Points
120 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 30 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Browns can't stop outside tosses, so I imagine the Steelers have taken notice.

  5. Saquon Barkley, RB, Giants (vs. Redskins)- 23 Points
80 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 50 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Redskins have a great front that just shut down Ezekiel Elliott, but Saquon Barkley can break free on any play.

  6. James White, RB, Patriots (at Bills)- 22 Points
40 Rushing Yards, 6 Catches, 60 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
James White is a must-start with Sony Michel's availability in question.

  7. Joe Mixon, RB, Bengals (vs. Bucs)- 19 Points
60 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 30 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Buccaneers stop the run well, but Joe Mixon should be in position to score a touchdown.

  8. Phillip Lindsay, RB, Broncos (at Chiefs)- 18 Points
50 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 30 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Chiefs have poor linebackers who won't be able to keep up with Phillip Lindsay.

  9. Christian McCaffrey, RB, Panthers (vs. Ravens)- 18 Points
50 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 30 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Ravens have a great front seven that should limit Christian McCaffrey, but McCaffrey will be a threat to score.

  10. Tarik Cohen, RB, Bears (vs. Jets)- 17 Points
20 Rushing Yards, 5 Catches, 40 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Jets took some bad angles on Latavius Murray's touchdowns, so perhaps that'll happen again when they're trying to defend Tarik Cohen.

  11. LeSean McCoy, RB, Bills (vs. Patriots)- 16 Points
70 Rushing Yards, 5 Catches, 40 Receiving Yards.
LeSean McCoy suffered an injury on the second play of last week's game.

  12. Kerryon Johnson, RB, Lions (vs. Seahawks)- 16 Points
50 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 20 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Seahawks stop the run well, so this isn't an ideal matchup against Kerryon Johnson.

  13. Adrian Peterson, RB, Redskins (at Giants)- 16 Points
80 Rushing Yards, 1 Catch, 10 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
Adrian Peterson should have another nice game, as his matchup this week is easier than the previous one.

  14. Marlon Mack, RB, Colts (at Raiders)- 15 Points
60 Rushing Yards, 2 Catches, 10 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
Marlon Mack looked great versus the Bills. The Raiders aren't awful against the run, but Mack can be started.

  15. Doug Martin, RB, Raiders (vs. Colts)- 15 Points
60 Rushing Yards, 2 Catches, 10 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
Doug Martin will start for Marshawn Lynch in a good matchup.

  16. Dalvin Cook, RB, Vikings (vs. Saints)- 15 Points
40 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 20 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
    Status unknown.

  17. Chris Thompson, RB, Redskins (at Giants)- 14 Points
20 Rushing Yards, 6 Catches, 60 Receiving Yards.
Perhaps Chris Thompson will return this week to abuse the Giants' poor linebackers.

  18. Nick Chubb, RB, Browns (at Steelers)- 13 Points
50 Rushing Yards, 1 Catch, 10 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Steelers stop the run well, but Nick Chubb will be in position for a touchdown.

  19. David Johnson, RB, Cardinals (vs. 49ers)- 13 Points
60 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 30 Receiving Yards.
If David Johnson couldn't take advantage of an easy matchup against the Broncos, he has no hope of bouncing back.

  20. Kenyan Drake, RB, Dolphins (at Texans)- 13 Points
60 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 30 Receiving Yards.
Kenyan Drake is splitting too many carries with Frank Gore, which makes no sense.

  21. Bilal Powell, RB, Jets (at Bears)- 13 Points
30 Rushing Yards, 5 Catches, 50 Receiving Yards.
    Bilal Powell's status is unknown.

  22. Jordan Howard, RB, Bears (vs. Jets)- 12 Points
40 Rushing Yards, 1 Catch, 10 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Jets usually stuff the run well, but Jordan Howard will be in position for more touchdowns.

  23. Nyheim Hines, RB, Colts (at Raiders)- 12 Points
10 Rushing Yards, 6 Catches, 50 Receiving Yards.

  24. T.J. Yeldon, RB, Jaguars (vs. Eagles)- 12 Points
30 Rushing Yards, 5 Catches, 40 Receiving Yards.

  25. Theo Riddick, RB, Lions (vs. Seahawks)- 12 Points
10 Rushing Yards, 6 Catches, 50 Receiving Yards.

  26. Wendell Smallwood, RB, Eagles (at Jaguars)- 11 Points
30 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 40 Receiving Yards.

  27. Sony Michel, RB, Patriots (at Bills)- 11 Points
    50 Rushing Yards, 1 TD.
Sony Michel suffered a knee injury against the Bears. Michel is week to week.

  28. Alex Collins, RB, Ravens (at Panthers)- 11 Points
30 Rushing Yards, 1 Catch, 10 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Panthers are great against the run, so Alex Collins will need a touchdown to be a fantasy factor.

  29. Buck Allen, RB, Ravens (at Panthers)- 11 Points
20 Rushing Yards, 5 Catches, 40 Receiving Yards.

  30. Chris Carson, RB, Seahawks (at Lions)- 11 Points
80 Rushing Yards, 2 Catches, 10 Receiving Yards.
The Lions can't stop the run, but you never know what Seattle will do with its backs.

  31. Matt Breida, RB, 49ers (at Cardinals)- 10 Points
50 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 20 Receiving Yards.
Matt Breida barely played last week. I wouldn't trust him right now with his troublesome ankle.

  32. Duke Johnson, RB, Browns (at Steelers)- 10 Points
30 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 30 Receiving Yards.
Why isn't Duke Johnson touching the ball more?

  33. Ronald Jones, RB, Bucs (at Bengals)- 10 Points
70 Rushing Yards, 2 Catches, 10 Receiving Yards.
Ronald Jones could start if Peyton Barber is out. He might have a good matchup if Vontaze Burfict is out.

  34. Isaiah Crowell, RB, Jets (at Bears)- 10 Points
    40 Rushing Yards, 1 TD.
The Bears should be able to limit Isaiah Crowell rather easily.

  35. Ty Montgomery, RB, Packers (at Rams)- 10 Points
20 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 40 Receiving Yards.

  36. Mark Ingram, RB, Saints (at Vikings)- 10 Points
    40 Rushing Yards, 1 TD.
The Vikings defend the run well, but Mark Ingram could find the end zone.

  37. Frank Gore, RB, Dolphins (at Texans)- 9 Points
40 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 20 Receiving Yards.
The Texans have a good run defense, so avoid.

  38. Jalen Richard, RB, Raiders (vs. Colts)- 9 Points
20 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 30 Receiving Yards.

  39. Lamar Miller, RB, Texans (vs. Dolphins)- 9 Points
60 Rushing Yards, 2 Catches, 10 Receiving Yards.
Kerryon Johnson just ran over the Dolphins, but I'm less optimistic about the pedestrian Lamar Miller.

  40. Corey Clement, RB, Eagles (at Jaguars)- 8 Points
50 Rushing Yards, 2 Catches, 10 Receiving Yards.

  41. Peyton Barber, RB, Bucs (at Bengals)- 7 Points
40 Rushing Yards, 2 Catches, 10 Receiving Yards.
Peyton Barber left last week's game in the third quarter.

  42. Latavius Murray, RB, Vikings (vs. Saints)- 7 Points
40 Rushing Yards, 2 Catches, 10 Receiving Yards.

  43. Raheem Mostert, RB, 49ers (at Cardinals)- 6 Points
    60 Rushing Yards.

  44. Carlos Hyde, RB, Jaguars (vs. Eagles)- 6 Points
40 Rushing Yards, 1 Catch, 10 Receiving Yards.
Carlos Hyde will share touches with T.J. Yeldon until Leonard Fournette returns.

  45. Jamaal Williams, RB, Packers (at Rams)- 6 Points
40 Rushing Yards, 1 Catch, 10 Receiving Yards.
The Rams are strong against the run, but Jamaal Williams is losing touches to Aaron Jones.

  46. Aaron Jones, RB, Packers (at Rams)- 6 Points
40 Rushing Yards, 1 Catch, 10 Receiving Yards.
Aaron Jones has a tough matchup, and he has to split touches anyway.

  47. Royce Freeman, RB, Broncos (at Chiefs)- 5 Points
    50 Rushing Yards.
Royce Freeman has usually seen fewer snaps than Phillip Lindsay, which makes sense. He's also dealing with an injury.

  48. Spencer Ware, RB, Chiefs (vs. Broncos)- 5 Points
30 Rushing Yards, 1 Catch, 10 Receiving Yards.

  49. LeGarrette Blount, RB, Lions (vs. Seahawks)- 5 Points
    50 Rushing Yards.

  50. Kenjon Barner, RB, Patriots (at Bills)- 5 Points
    50 Rushing Yards.
Kenjon Barner could be worth a look if Sony Michel is out.

  51. Jacquizz Rodgers, RB, Bucs (at Bengals)- 4 Points
10 Rushing Yards, 2 Catches, 10 Receiving Yards.

  52. Jordan Wilkins, RB, Colts (at Raiders)- 4 Points
20 Rushing Yards, 1 Catch, 10 Receiving Yards.

  53. Mike Davis, RB, Seahawks (at Lions)- 4 Points
    40 Rushing Yards.

  54. Alfred Blue, RB, Texans (vs. Dolphins)- 4 Points
    40 Rushing Yards.

  55. Chris Ivory, RB, Bills (vs. Patriots)- 3 Points
    30 Rushing Yards.

  56. Devontae Booker, RB, Broncos (at Chiefs)- 3 Points
10 Rushing Yards, 1 Catch, 10 Receiving Yards.

  57. Wayne Gallman, RB, Giants (vs. Redskins)- 3 Points
    30 Rushing Yards.

  58. Alfred Morris, RB, 49ers (at Cardinals)- 2 Points
    20 Rushing Yards.

  59. Chase Edmonds, RB, Cardinals (vs. 49ers)- 2 Points
    20 Rushing Yards.

  60. C.J. Anderson, RB, Panthers (vs. Ravens)- 2 Points
    20 Rushing Yards.

  61. Malcolm Brown, RB, Rams (vs. Packers)- 2 Points
    20 Rushing Yards.

  62. Robert Kelley, RB, Redskins (at Giants)- 2 Points
    20 Rushing Yards.

  63. Mark Walton, RB, Bengals (vs. Bucs)- 1 Points
    10 Rushing Yards.

  64. Robert Turbin, RB, Colts (at Raiders)- 1 Points
    10 Rushing Yards.

  65. Giovani Bernard, RB, Bengals (vs. Bucs)- 0 Points

    Status unknown.

  69. Rod Smith, RB, Cowboys (vs. BYE)- 0 Points

  70. Darren Sproles, RB, Eagles (at Jaguars)- 0 Points

  74. Leonard Fournette, RB, Jaguars (vs. Eagles)- 0 Points

    Likely out until Week 10.

  75. Marshawn Lynch, RB, Raiders (vs. Colts)- 0 Points

Marshawn Lynch is out for a month.

  76. Le'Veon Bell, RB, Steelers (vs. Browns)- 0 Points

Le'Veon Bell has yet to report to the team.

  77. Dion Lewis, RB, Titans (vs. BYE)- 0 Points

  78. Derrick Henry, RB, Titans (vs. BYE)- 0 Points
