Thread: Bengals Mock Draft

  1. Bengals Mock Draft

Round 1: Earl Thomas FS Texas
The Bengals need someone who has some instincts, we lost against the Texan's because we couldn't cover the TE and couldn'yt cover the deep pass.

round 2: Geno Atkins Georgia DT
The bengals still need to add some pressure, and if they can add it from the middle, than they can have more sacks with their DE's and stop the run and have more int's.

round 3: Micah Johnson Kentucky OLB
The Bengals Dhani Jones will be leaving soon, they might keep Rey at SLB and if they plan to, this is a guy who will fit just fine in cincy's scheme will be there to step in and be a baller.

round 4: Patrick Robinson Florida State CB
The Bengals still have little depth in their CB position, Morgan Trent is fine but they could use another good backup cause they love running the Nickle.

round 5: Cory Jackson Maryland FB
Don't know how much longer J.Johnson can Last.

round 6: Dedrick Epps Miami TE
No, they don't put in Chase Coffman a TE that can Catch, they put in one's with stone fringers and that are BLOCKERS.
Carson would have atleast 15 mor completions.

round 7: Hunter Lawrence Texas K
It's the 7th round , wont get much value here!
    THE ANIMAL

  2. I like this, I think. Why do the mock drafters all have us taking a running back? There are some great ones in free agency, and I think we ought to build up the lines some more in the draft. Willie Parker could be a cheap pick-up, and while he isn't perfect, we could use his speed out of the backfield.

Because people still over-value the most unimportant position in football.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. Running game is hugely important, but you only get a game-changer like AP as a runner every few years. For the most part, it takes good run-blocking and an experienced, motivated back.

A guy who touches the ball over 20 times a game is unimportant? Don't confuse the fact that there are a lot of serviceable RB's in the NFL with importance.

The running game is largely based on blocking so unless you have a running back that is sub NFL level, you should be able to run the ball if you have elite run blockers. I'd rather build my OL up and take a serviceable running back out of free agency than a good RB and have a marginal OL.
