2011 NFL Free Agents: Center

2011 NFL Free Agent Positions:
QB | RB | FB | WR | TE | OT | G | C | DE | DT | OLB | ILB | CB | S | K/P | Recap

2011 Free Agency: Star rating is out of five. Age listing as of Sept. 1, 2011.

  1. Ryan Kalil, C, Panthers. Age: 25.
    Franchised by Panthers

If the Panthers don't franchise Ryan Kalil, teams will be lining up to sign one of the top centers in the NFL.

  2. Olin Kreutz, C, Bears. Age: 34.
    Signed with Saints (1 year)

It's not saying much, but Olin Kreutz was Chicago's best pass-protector in 2010. He's a declining player at this stage of his career, but he just doesn't miss any games; Kreutz made his 129th consecutive start in the season finale.

  3. Lyle Sendlein, C, Cardinals. Age: 27.
    Re-signed with Cardinals

Arizona's best offensive lineman, Lyle Sendlein hasn't missed a start in three years. He needs to be re-signed.

  4. Kyle Cook (RFA), C, Bengals. Age: 28.
Kyle Cook has been a solid, dependable starting center for the Bengals the past two years. He deserves an extension.

  5. Jonathan Goodwin, C, Saints. Age: 32.
    Signed with 49ers (3 years, $10.9 million)

A serviceable starting center, Jonathan Goodwin still has a couple of quality seasons left in the tank.

  6. Chris Spencer, C, Seahawks. Age: 29.
    Signed with Bears (2 years)

The injury-prone Chris Spencer had a rocky start to his 2010 campaign, but improved toward the end of the season.

  7. Samson Satele, C, Raiders. Age: 26.
    Re-signed with Raiders

Samson Satele has done a decent job as Oakland's starting center the past two years after struggling in Miami.

  8. Scott Mruczkowski, C, Chargers. Age: 29.
    Re-signed with Chargers

Scott Mruczkowski barely played this season, but filled in really well for an injured Nick Hardwick the year before.

  9. Casey Wiegmann, C, Chiefs. Age: 38.
    Re-signed with Chiefs (1 year)

Casey Wiegmann is a very reliable center who doesn't miss any games. At 38, however, his best days are far behind him.

  10. Shaun O'Hara, C, Giants. Age: 34.
Shaun O'Hara is a 34-year-old coming off Achilles surgery. He says he'll be healthy by September, but that remains to be seen.

  11. Casey Rabach, C, Redskins. Age: 33. -- Signed with Ravens (2 years)
  12. Eric Heitmann, C, 49ers. Age: 31.
  13. Kris O'Dowd, C, USC. Age: 23. -- Signed with Cardinals
  14. Jake Kirkpatrick, C, TCU. Age: 24.
  15. Tim Barnes, C, Missouri. Age: 23. -- Signed with Ravens
  16. Alex Linnenkohl, C, Oregon State. Age: 23. -- Signed with Bears
  17. Jason Spitz, C, Packers. Age: 28. -- Signed with Jaguars (3 years)
  18. Rudy Niswanger, C, Chiefs. Age: 28. -- Signed with Lions
  19. Dylan Gandy, C, Lions. Age: 29. -- Re-signed with Lions (2 years)
  20. Robert Turner (RFA), C, Jets. Age: 27.
  21. Ben Claxton, C, Cardinals. Age: 31.

Kirkpatrick signed with Colts. Don't get why the 2010 Rimington award winner and 2009 Rimington finalist went undrafted and only got 1 1/2 stars

I can't wait to visit imposterwalterfootball.com.

As for the Packers, they never sign free agents. They do things the right way, much like the Pats, Colts and Steelers.

Drafting a center/guard this year would be wise for the giants.

HUGE Chiefs fan up here! Willing to give left nut if they would make move for a center. In particular #3 Sendlein or #4 Cook. Weigman showed that our center spot needed some stability but at 38 we gotta look ahead. If the Chiefs signed one of these guys we could go to a right tackle, OLB in draft.
