New York Knicks
Mock Selections from Paul Banks and David Kay
  • Rd. 1, Pk. 8 Dennis Smith Jr., PG, N.C. State
The Knicks are in need of depth all across the board, but they could really use help at guard, especially since Derrick Rose is a free agent and Courtney Lee isn't the long-term solution at the two. Smith Jr. is a skilled floor general capable of scoring or being a distributor.

  • Rd. 2, Pk. 14 Dwayne Bacon, SG, Florida State
A smooth scorer with good size for the next level, Bacon knows how to get buckets from the perimeter or when attacking the tin.

  • Rd. 2, Pk. 28 Nigel Hayes, F, Wisconsin
Hayes projects as an undersized power forward at the next level since he struggles shooting it from distance.

New York Knicks
Mock Selections from Mike Elworth
  • Rd. 1, Pk. 8 Jaren Jackson, PF, Michigan State
Jackson is the perfect modern power forward. He is a shooting big man, but also has athleticism and size, plus he would match well with Enes Kanter and Kristaps Porzignis, one of the league's best big man duos.

5 Most Commonly Picked Players

Frank Ntilikina, PG, France, .
Going to the Knicks on 18 mock drafts

Featured Writeup:
The Knicks are in a position where they should either add a large amount of talent to boost themselves into contention or just break it down and get rid of every player not named Kristnaps Porzingis and Willy Hernanagomez. I think they should do the later, but the only problem is they don't have attractive players who teams would want to trade for...its sad to think that teams aren't even interested in trading for Carmelo Anthony. Anyways since Phil Jackson drafted Kristnaps Porzingis and Will Hernangomez who will likely be the starting big men next year and now he's got the foreign player bug and is very interested in drafting Ntilikina. Who isn't a bad player, but with this history highly drafted foreign players have in this league its hard to be excited as a fan base when your team selects one with top tier college talent left on the board. If not Ntilkina look for the Knicks to draft another player who can contribute right away, but the only scenario that I can see that happening in is if they select Malik Monk or trade for Ricky Rubio.

Malik Monk, G, Kentucky, .
Going to the Knicks on 14 mock drafts

Featured Writeup:
The Knicks need help all over outside of Porzingis. Melo is gonna be traded, it's a matter of when not if, DRose and is a FA's, Lee has underwhelmed, and Noah has fallen off a cliff since winning DPOTY and finishing 4th in MVP voting a few years ago. Monk is a good 3 level scorer who would be a good second option for Porzingis and probably a steal at this juncture

Dennis Smith, PG, N.C. State, .
Going to the Knicks on 13 mock drafts

Featured Writeup:
The Knicks get their PG of the future in Smith. He has the potential to be a dynamic scorer from the PG position and will fit in very well with KP as a young nucleus in NYC. The rest of the roster is a mess, but KP and Smith are a good duo to build around. Line up: PG: Smith SG: Lee/Holiday SF: Melo/Thomas PF: Porzingis C: Noah/O'Quinn

Jayson Tatum, SF, Duke, .
Going to the Knicks on 3 mock drafts

Featured Writeup:
Carmelo Anthony will be gone which means they are going to need a 3 and Tatum would fit that spot perfectly. Tatum has been great all year when healthy and although the Knicks will be in need of a point guard with Derrick Rose hitting free agency I think Phil will go right after a replacement for Melo so they can just move on into the future of New York Knick Basketball.

De'Aaron Fox, PG, Kentucky, .
Going to the Knicks on 2 mock drafts

Featured Writeup:
The Knicks are confusing to figure out. They have been trying to go for Rubio but failed. Rubio is a very good passer but he is a plus defender. Fox is the best perimeter defender in the draft so that could be a plus to Derrick Rose's lack of well any defense.
