Updated: May 7, 2012.

Team needs and outstanding trades have NOT yet been taken into account with this mock draft.

  1. Charlotte Bobcats: Shabazz Muhammad, SF, UCLA, 6-6, HS Sr.
Considered by most as the top recruit in the 2012 class, Shabazz Muhammed has a complete, all-around game for a wing player.

  2. Washington Wizards: Nerlens Noel, PF/C, Kentucky, 6-10, HS Sr.
An extremely athletic, lengthy big man who protects the rim like Anthony Davis, Nerlens Noel reclassified to the 2012 class which will make him draft eligible in 2013.

  3. Cleveland Cavaliers: Cody Zeller, C, Indiana, 6-11, Fr.
The Hoosier is so talented for a young big man and has such a terrific feel for the game, but needs to get stronger before making the leap to the league.

  4. New Orleans Hornets: James McAdoo, F, North Carolina, 6-8, Fr.
McAdoo came off the bench at North Carolina as a freshman, but he will need to be a focal point of next season for the Tar Heels.

  5. Sacramento Kings: Kyle Anderson, SF, UCLA, 6-8, HS Sr.
Kyle Anderson is a smooth, all-around, unique talent who can play a point forward-type role.

  6. New Jersey Nets: Isaiah Austin, C, Baylor, 7-0, HS Sr.
The future Bear is a rim protector with great length and athleticism, but his lack of physicality is a concern.

  7. Golden State Warriors: Steven Adams, C, Pittsburgh, 7-0, HS Sr.
The New Zealand native has the ideal size to be a true NBA big man and the developing skill set to match.

  8. Toronto Raptors: Otto Porter, SF, Georgetown, 6-8, Fr.
After an impactful freshman season in which he continued to develop his all-around game, Otto Porter is somebody to watch next season as he should be the Hoyas go-to option.

  9. Detroit Pistons: Alex Poythress, SF, Kentucky, 6-8, HS Sr.
A combo forward with good strength and athleticism, Alex Poythress will get a chance to shine next season for Kentucky.

  10. Minnesota Timberwolves: Tony Mitchell, SF, North Texas, 6-8, Fr.
An athletic, explosive forward, Mitchell should benefit from another year of maturing and improving his perimeter game to help ensure he is a first-round pick in 2013.

  11. Portland Blazers: Dario Saric, SF, Croatia, 6-10, 1994
The prototypical versatile European, Dario Saric has great handles but has a long way to go in his physical development.

  12. Milwaukee Bucks: C.J. Leslie, F, N.C. State, 6-9, Soph.
A ridiculous athlete who excels above the rim, C.J. Leslie came on strong at the end of his sophomore season. However, he still needs to develop his perimeter game and get stronger.

  13. Phoenix Suns: Adonis Thomas, G/F, Memphis, 6-6, Fr.
An injury held Adonis Thomas back during his freshman season, but he is a tough matchup due to his strength, athleticism and ability to shoot the ball, and should see a larger role next year for Josh Pastner.

  14. Houston Rockets: Myck Kabongo, PG, Texas, 6-1, Fr.
A pure distributor, the Canada-native had a somewhat disappointing freshman season but is still loaded with talent and ability.

  15. Philadelphia 76ers: LeBryan Nash, SF, Oklahoma State, 6-7, Fr.
LeBryan Nash has NBA-ready size and athleticism but needs to work on his outside shot.

GSW just announced a spiffy new arena on SF waterfront. Time for them to drop out of the top 7 and send the pick to Utah. [U knoa its coming!]

Just thought I'd mention they haven't been called the Washington Bullets for a number of years (see your No. 2 listing).

Best mock draft yet for Cleveland. Though I think it would work better for Cleveland if they draft:

1a. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist SF Kentucky
1b. Terrence Ross SG Washington
2a. Fab Melo C Syracuse
2b. Dreymond Green PF Michigan State

Starting for Cleveland:

PG: Kyrie Irving
PF: Anderson Vareajo
PF: Dreymond Green
SG: Terrence Ross
C: Fab Melo

Bench:

F: Tristian Thompson

anthony davis is a great defender but limited offensively. when we look back 4 years from now the best player from this draft will be harrison barnes. plays similar to grant hill when he was with the pistons. has great size 6'8 230lbs with the ability to play great on both ends of the court.within 2 to 3 years barnes will be a 24ppg 8rpg 4apg player in the nba and be in multiple all star games.

I think Zeller is a good fit for Milwaukee. Ekpe Udoh and Larry Sanders are both defensive minded centers and Sanders was a shot blocking machine at the end of the year last year. They need a scorer down low and Zeller fits that mold

Best big man since Bill Russell? Better than Wilt Chamberlain? Better than Kareem? Better than Moses Malone? Better than Hakeem? Better than Shaq? Better than David Robinson?

He might be better than Dwight and Bynum, but your calling him the best Center EVER. Get real man

It's amazing that someone who writes for a paper in DC can co a mock where the biggest need for the Wizards, SF, is ignored for a lesser player at a position that already has a starter.

If the Wiz draft 2nd and it's someone other than either Davis or Kidd-Gilchrist, then the entire management should be fired. MKG + Chris Singleton would be a nice SF rotation and would solidify the starting lineup along with Wall, Crawford, Booker and Nene with guys like Mack, Vesely and Seraphin off the bench.

Way to put an international player that didn't even declare in the mock. Good job paying attention to detail.

If Cleveland gets the first overall pick, there going to take Anthony Davis no question about it. How coul you pass on the best big man since Bill Russel? The Cavs could trade Tristan Thompson for a wing player or possibly a draft pick.

@Owebama

But if they're going hard after Deron Williams (which they should do) they won't have a lot of leftover money to throw around.

Even if the Cavs get the #1 pick I would love them to trade the pick to Portland or Utah. We need more then 1 player to get the ball rolling. I would like to c Barnes SF Lamb SG Melo C Green PF Taylor PG starters. N bench players
