*** 2015 NFL Mock Draft (3 rounds) updated Nov. 18. This NFL Mock Draft will be updated at least once per week (Tuesday afternoons and other times for important events.). 1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
TRADE! OK, a little too early to project trades, especially given that the draft order isn’t even close to being set yet, but if the Raiders are picking No. 1, as they were in this update, one of two things will happen: They’ll either fall in love with Marcus Mariota and pick him, much like the Panthers did with Cam Newton after spending a second-rounder on Jimmy Clausen; or they’ll auction off the top selection to the highest bidder. I’m projecting a trade here for the Raiders, but that could change soon if Derek Carr continues to play poorly. If he keeps struggling – his showings versus Denver and San Diego were not promising – Oakland may consider a change.

There will be plenty of interest from teams looking to land Mariota, and the Buccaneers might be most desperate after what has transpired in recent weeks. Tampa has to find a franchise quarterback to be competitive in the NFC South. I also considered the Jets as the team to move up. I said that I may have that happening in my next update, but I now have reason to believe that the Buccaneers would be the favorite to move up. I’ll explain why in the near future.

To move up to No. 1, the Buccaneers dealt the third-overall pick, their second-round selection and their 2016 first-rounder.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

  2. Jacksonville Jaguars: Leonard Williams, DE/DT, USC
If the Jaguars secure the top pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, they will trade it to the highest bidder. There are plenty of teams – Buccaneers, Jets, Rams, Texans, Titans, Raiders (if Derek Carr struggles), Browns (if they want to give up on Johnny Manziel and his antics) – that will be desperate to land Marcus Mariota. Jacksonville will deal the selection to the highest bidder.

It’s all moot because Jacksonville is picking second in this scenario, so I’m going to slot the top non-quarterback talent to them anyway. The Jaguars’ defensive line was projected to be a strength this year, but Sen’Derrick Marks has been the only consistent pass-rusher. The group isn’t nearly the team’s biggest weakness, but a better pass rush will mask issues in the back seven.

  3. Oakland Raiders: Randy Gregory, DE/OLB, Nebraska
I’ve mocked a left tackle here previously, but the Raiders would probably go with one of the elite pass-rushers in this scenario. Excluding Justin Tuck and Khalil Mack, no Oakland defender gets to the quarterback consistently. An upgrade is desperately needed across from Tuck, and Randy Gregory happens to be the top player available. He has the potential to go No. 1 if teams don’t rate Marcus Mariota very highly.

  4. Tennessee Titans: Shane Ray, DE/OLB, Missouri
The Titans have to find tons of defensive help. One major need in particular is a pass-rushing upgrade because Kamerion Wimbley is not getting the job done. They’d love to land Shane Ray, who is the No. 2 edge rusher in this class. He has been unstoppable this year and has risen in this mock draft recently as a consequence.

  5. New York Jets: Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
There is so much controversy surrounding Jameis Winston, from the alleged sexual assault, to the crab legs, to the autographs, to the point-shaving scandal, to his suspension for shouting a stupid meme in the student union (funny that the old farts running Florida State didn’t know what it meant). However, Winston is too talented not to go high in the first round.

Winston is also too good for the Jets to pass up. I’d be worried about him in New York, but the team is in desperate need of a franchise quarterback, as it’s clear that Geno Smith is not the answer.

  6. Washington Redskins: Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford
Jason Whitlock said the Redskins were trying to focus on obtaining Jameis Winston with this pick when he ruined a recent episode of PTI. It’s more likely that they’ll either upgrade their secondary or find some protection for Robert Griffin. They haven’t been able to protect very well, and it’s disconcerting that third-round rookie Morgan Moses hasn’t been able to find his way into the starting lineup despite the team’s issues at right tackle.

  7. New York Giants: Brandon Scherff, OT/G, Iowa
There’s been talk that the Giants could jettison left tackle Will Beatty following this season. Beatty is too expensive for someone so injury-prone and unreliable. If the Giants cut Beatty, they’ll almost certainly consider a blind-side protector early in the 2015 NFL Draft, as protecting Eli Manning will be paramount so that he cuts down on the interceptions.

Pick change; previously Amari Cooper, WR

  8. Carolina Panthers: Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama
It’s possible that the Panthers could double up on receivers in the 2015 NFL Draft. They really have nothing beyond Kelvin Benjamin. If the top tackles are off the board, Carolina could take Amari Cooper to give them a pair of lethal receivers. Cooper is the best player available, as he is on the same level as A.J. Green and Julio Jones.

Pick change; previously Brandon Scherff, OT/G

  9. Minnesota Vikings: Landon Collins, S, Alabama
The Vikings have a trio of talented defensive backs in Harrison Smith, Xavier Rhodes and Captain Munnerlyn, but they could use a fourth. As it so happens, the best player on the board fills a need at safety next to Smith.

Pick change; previously Dante Fowler, DE

  10. New Orleans Saints: Dante Fowler, DE/OLB, Florida
The Saints got rid of Victor Butler, so they definitely need to work on finding an upgrade across from Junior Galette. Anyone who can tackle would fit in well, as their putrid defense couldn’t even stop Andy Dalton.

Pick change; previously Vic Beasley, DE/OLB

  11. Chicago Bears: P.J. Williams, CB, Florida State
Kyle Fuller has looked great so far – he completely shut down Kelvin Benjamin and other solid receivers – but the Bears will need another corner with Charles Tillman likely done.

Pick change; previously Landon Collins, S

  12. St. Louis Rams: La’El Collins, OT/G, LSU
The Rams’ offensive line played better once Greg Robinson moved into the starting lineup, but Robinson has been asked to move to left tackle in the wake of Jake Long’s injury. Long is too unreliable at this stage of his career.

Pick change; previously P.J. Williams, CB

  13. Houston Texans: Kevin White, WR, West Virginia
The Texans could target the wide receiver position in the first round this upcoming April. Andre Johnson won’t be on the team much longer, so Houston will have to find a new starting wideout across from DeAndre Hopkins.

Pick change; previously Shaq Thompson, LB

  14. Cleveland Browns: Leonard Floyd, DE/OLB, Georgia
Barkevious Mingo does some things well, but he has failed to develop into a great pass-rusher. Jabaal Sheard, meanwhile, will be hitting free agency in March. With all that in mind, if Mingo continues to disappoint in terms of getting to the quarterback, the Browns will want to bring in someone who can accomplish that.

Pick change; previously Arik Armstead, DE/DT

  15. Cleveland Browns: DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville
The Browns almost have to draft a receiver with one of their two first-round picks, don’t they? Having Miles Austin start for a second year just can’t happen.

Pick change; previously Kevin White, WR

  16. Baltimore Ravens: Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon
I’ve had the Ravens taking a running back in previous updates, and while they could still do that with Melvin Gordon, they could also look to address their secondary, which is in shambles right now. Help is desperately needed at the cornerback position.

Pick change; previously Melvin Gordon, RB
