  1. Tennessee Titans: Joey Bosa, DE/DT, Ohio State
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Marcus Mariota, QB

Joey Bosa dominated college football this past year and would definitely be a top-five pick in this year’s class if he were draft-eligible. He’s not, so the Titans would strongly consider him at No. 1 overall, as he could provide a big boost to their porous defense. Unlike Leonard Williams this year, Bosa will likely be viewed as the top consensus prospect in the draft.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

  2. Oakland Raiders: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Leonard Williams, DE/DT

The Raiders are fine now at left tackle with Donald Penn stationed there at the moment. However, Penn is entering his contract year, and given that he’ll turn 33 prior to the 2016 season, Oakland may want to find a long-term blind-side protector.

Laremy Tunsil is expected to be the top tackle available for the 2016 NFL Draft, and he could really help improve Derek Carr’s blocking over the next decade.

  3. Cleveland Browns: Cardale Jones, QB, Ohio State
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Danny Shelton, NT and D.J. Humphries, OT/G

The Browns may trade up for Marcus Mariota on April 30. If not – they already stupidly rejected a trade in which they’d give up Nos. 12 and 19, as well as their second-round pick – they’ll have to find their quarterback of the future next spring; Chris Mortensen reported that Cleveland has “90 percent” given up on a quarterback who rolls $20s in bathrooms. Mike Pettine called the report “90-percent inaccurate,” but he was 90-percent lying in order to maintain leverage for Mariota.

Cardale Jones would’ve been a second-round prospect had he declared for the 2015 NFL Draft. There was a chance he would’ve gone late in the first via a team trading up, but he probably would’ve been relegated to the second frame. That will hardly be the case in the 2016 NFL Draft. If Jones starts and continues to thrive, he’ll be a top-five selection, and he could potentially go No. 1 overall. He has way too much upside and natural talent, displaying Ben Roethlisberger- or Daunte Culpepper-type ability.

  4. San Francisco 49ers: Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Arik Armstead, DE/DT

The 49ers miss out on the top three receivers in my 2015 NFL Mock Draft, but given that they’re sure to have a much worse record this upcoming season, they might be able to nab Laquon Treadwell, who would be the consensus No. 1 wideout in the class if it weren’t for a knee injury he sustained late last year. Still, Treadwell has an entire year to rehab his injury, and if he has a dominant 2015 campaign, he could end up being a top-five selection.

  5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Robert Nkemdiche, DE, Ole Miss
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Jameis Winston, QB

The Buccaneers have whiffed on some defensive end prospects and free agents, but they’re almost certain to hit with this one. They desperately need to find another pass-rusher to complement Gerald McCoy, who is currently the only Tampa player who can consistently get to the quarterback.

  6. Chicago Bears: Christian Hackenberg, QB, Penn State
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Kevin White, WR

It’s been rumored that the Bears could trade Jay Cutler to the Titans for the No. 2 pick. Dream on, Chicago fans. While this could happen – it would require Tennessee to have the most-inept front office of all time – a more likely scenario is to obtain a quarterback who actually cares about winning next spring.

Christian Hackenberg had a rough sophomore campaign, but he has all the talent in the world. He was great in the bowl game, so perhaps that’s a sign of things to come. If Hackenberg has a strong 2015 season, he’ll be in top-five consideration.

  7. Washington Redskins: Vernon Hargreaves, CB, Florida
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Amari Cooper, WR

It’s not an earth-shattering revelation to say that the Redskins desperately need help in their secondary. Upgrades are needed both at cornerback and safety. Washington won’t be able to obtain one at No. 5 overall on April 30, but the team may have better luck in the 2016 NFL Draft. Vernon Hargreaves is the projected top corner in the 2016 class, and he could easily be chosen in the top five.

  8. Jacksonville Jaguars: Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Dante Fowler, DE/OLB

I’m not sure what David Caldwell’s analytics say about taking a running back in the first round, but he might believe that Ezekiel Elliott, the top prospect available, would help the offense immeasurably.

Elliott is a first-round prospect despite the fact that the running back position has been devalued. Elliott, who was amazing in Ohio State’s championship run, could be a stud back for the Jaguars, who will need to upgrade the position after Toby Gerhart predictably busted.

  9. New York Jets: Connor Cook, QB, Michigan State
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Vic Beasley, DE/OLB

Connor Cook is probably the worst-case scenario for the Jets, who will need a quarterback because neither Ryan Fitzpatrick nor Geno Smith will be successful in 2015. The issue is that by signing Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie, New York has effectively taken itself out of contention for Cardale Jones and perhaps even Christian Hackenberg.

  10. Atlanta Falcons: Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Alvin Dupree, DE/OLB

Roddy White is still an effective player, but will that still be the case a year from now? White, after all, will turn 35 during the midway point of the 2016 season. The Falcons may want to find a long-term No. 2 receiver across from Julio Jones.

  11. New York Giants: Jalen Ramsey, S, Florida State
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Brandon Scherff, OT/G

The Giants have a desperate need for a safety, and I’ve seen some mock drafts push Landen Collins to them at No. 9 overall. That would be a massive reach, so I highly doubt Jerry Reese would pull the trigger. This, meanwhile, makes much more sense. Jalen Ramsey is a legitimate top-10 prospect as the best safety prospect in the 2016 class.

  12. St. Louis Rams: Kendall Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Andrus Peat, OT

The Rams are set at cornerback right now, but two of their top three players at the position – Janoris Jenkins, Trumaine Johnson – have expiring contracts at the end of the 2015 season. This could be an area St. Louis will target with its first-round selection in the 2016 NFL Draft.

  13. New Orleans Saints: Leonard Floyd, DE/OLB, Georgia
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Trae Waynes, CB and Phillip Dorsett, WR

I had the Saints picking Shane Ray at No. 13 overall in a previous version of my 2015 NFL Mock Draft, but that changed recently for multiple reasons. The fact remains, however, that New Orleans still needs a better edge rusher.

  14. Miami Dolphins: Myles Jack, LB/RB, UCLA
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Todd Gurley, RB

The Dolphins have just one viable three-down linebacker on the roster in Jelani Jenkins. Koa Misi is a solid, two-down defender, but Miami has to find a third linebacker. If the Dolphins don’t accomplish that in the 2015 NFL Draft, they could select someone like Myles Jack in the first round next April.

  15. Houston Texans: Duke Williams, WR, Auburn
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Kevin Johnson, CB

The Texans would be projected to take a receiver in the 2015 NFL Draft if there was one worth picking. Alas, Amari Cooper, Kevin White and DeVante Parker will all be off the board at No. 16, so Houston may have to wait a year to obtain a No. 2 wideout.

  16. Detroit Lions: Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame
2015 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/30): Melvin Gordon, RB

Ronnie Stanley may have been the No. 5 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft had he declared. Next year’s class seems to be better, so Stanley might drop out of the top 10 if the need for a tackle isn’t there. That’s exactly what’s happening here; I had Stanley going at 11th overall to the Giants in a previous update, but my 2015 NFL Mock Draft update has changed things.
