The order of this 2017 NFL Mock Draft is random.

  1. Chicago Bears: Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Ronnie Stanley, OT

Before any Chicago fans complain about how their team absolutely won’t have the first-overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, they should note the disclaimer above that this order is random.

Having said that, the Bears drafting No. 1 overall isn’t that far-fetched. The team struggled down the stretch, and Jay Cutler won’t have Adam Gase next year. Cutler could struggle as a result, and if so, he’ll be gone.

Chicago will gladly draft Deshaun Watson. College football’s version of Russell Wilson, Watson had an amazing run despite being just a mere sophomore. The sky’s the limit for him.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

  2. New York Giants: Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Laquon Treadwell, WR

Athletes have had many derp moments over the years. Jason Pierre-Paul’s idiotic fireworks stunt definitely makes the cut, and the Giants, as a consequence, will be in the market for a new defensive end.

Myles Garrett would be the other player, besides Deshaun Watson, who would be in consideration at No. 1 if the 2017 NFL Draft were happening today. A terror of a pass-rusher, Garrett would provide a huge boost on the edge, upgrading a pass rush that struggled to get to the quarterback in 2015.

  3. Cleveland Browns: Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Carson Wentz, QB

Yes, a running back can be chosen this early. Todd Gurley would’ve been the No. 3 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft had he not sustained a knee injury. With that in mind, Leonard Fournette can certainly go to the Browns, as he’s an elite running back prospect who dominated college football this past season.

Cleveland could use an upgrade at running back over the inconsistent Isaiah Crowell. Fournette would be a perfect complement to Carson Wentz, whom I have the Browns choosing in my 2016 NFL Mock Draft.

  4. Miami Dolphins: Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Vernon Hargreaves, CB

The Dolphins brought in Adam Gase to coach up Ryan Tannehill, but what if Tannehill continues to struggle? I can’t see the front office sticking with him much longer, so the team could opt to move on by selecting the other first-round quarterback prospect in the 2017 NFL Draft. Brad Kaaya has played well in a terrible situation in Miami, and I think NFL personnel people will like how he handled adversity.

  5. New Orleans Saints: Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): A’Shawn Robinson, DT

Derek Barnett had a whopping 10 sacks as a freshman and recorded that same number in his second season at Tennessee. He can help a New Orleans pass rush that has no one who can get to the quarterback from the exterior, save for Cameron Jordan.

  6. Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Tabor, CB, Florida
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Paxton Lynch, QB

The Eagles are going to have to spend a couple of years repairing all of the damage Chip Kelly has caused. This involves finding a No. 1 cornerback without overspending on a free agent who was going to be a predictable bust. Jalen Tabor is the top cornerback in what appears to be a strong class, so Philadelphia wouldn’t hesitate to snatch him.

  7. San Francisco 49ers: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Jared Goff, QB

The 49ers don’t have any weapons. Anquan Boldin is the closest thing they have to one, but he might not even be on the roster once the 2017 NFL Draft rolls around. The team is in desperate need of talent at receiver, and I’m sure Chip Kelly will want to continue to use his Pac-12 connections.

  8. Atlanta Falcons: Jamal Adams, S, LSU
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Reggie Ragland, ILB

William Moore’s play has regressed lately, thanks to numerous injuries. He’ll be 32 a month following the 2017 NFL Draft, so the Falcons will want to get younger, better and healthier at safety.

  9. Jacksonville Jaguars: Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): DeForest Buckner, DE

The Jaguars are probably going to give Luke Joeckel another season, which is a mistake. Joeckel will struggle once again, and David Caldwell will ultimately have to admit that he made a big mistake in the 2013 NFL Draft (though, to be fair, most teams did as well).

  10. Tennessee Titans: Tre’Davious White, CB, LSU
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Laremy Tunsil, OT

Tennessee’s glaring weakness on the defensive side of the ball is in the secondary. Upgrades have to be made at cornerback and safety, and given the team’s other needs, it may not be able to address both positions until 2017. The Titans want to trade out of the No. 1 pick, but who’s going to want to move up?

  11. Los Angeles Rams: Adoree Jackson, CB/WR/KR, USC
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Andrew Billings, DT

Jeff Fisher has a strong connection to USC, which will only strengthen now that he’s coaching right next to the school. Perhaps he’d like to draft a Trojan, which can only bolster ticket sales, which will be low to start, given that people in Los Angeles don’t really care about anything significant, including professional football.

Adoree Jackson would make sense from a pure football perspective as well; the Rams will probably need a corner, as both Janoris Jenkins and Trumaine Johnson are headed into free agency.

  12. New York Jets: Lewis Neal, DE/OLB, LSU
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Jack Conklin, OT

The Jets haven’t been able to feature a stout pass-rusher on the edge in quite a while. They tried with Quinton Coples, but he proved to be a bust. Perhaps Lewis Neal will provide the answer.

  13. Buffalo Bills: Charles Harris, DE/OLB, Missouri
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Robert Nkemdiche, DE/DT

Speaking of AFC East teams that need to improve their ability to get to the quarterback, the Bills will be moving on from the sluggish Mario Williams, who inexplicably quit on the team last season. A new edge rusher will have to be obtained in the near future.

  14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Emmanuel Ogbah, DE

Doug Martin just put together a great season, but he’s an impending free agent. I could see the Buccaneers being hesitant to re-sign him, given that he loafed the previous two years. If they don’t bring him back, I can’t imagine Charles Sims being the answer, so why not draft the second dominant running back prospect in this class?

  15. Baltimore Ravens: Malachi Dupre, WR, LSU
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Jalen Ramsey, S/CB

Steve Smith is coming back for one more year, but that’s it. He’ll be gone forever after 2016, and there’s no telling if Breshad Perriman will live up to his first-round billing. If Perriman doesn’t do anything special this upcoming season, Baltimore could spend another first-round pick on a receiver.

Malachi Dupre caught just 14 passes as a freshman, but he was considered the No. 1 receiver in the country coming out of his high school class, so he was expected to improve. That’s exactly what he did, as his line of 43-698-6 was solid, considering he had absolutely no help at quarterback.

  16. Kansas City Chiefs: Roderick Johnson, OT, Florida State
2016 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 2/4): Kenny Clark, DT

Andy Reid is not one to shy away from bolstering his offensive and defensive lines. I have him addressing the former in the first round of my 2016 mock, so he can upgrade his blocking unit the following spring. I have a feeling he’ll need help at tackle, as the situation there is pretty shaky.
