*** 2019 NFL MOCK DRAFT (2 rounds) updated July 31. This mock draft will be updated occasionally. Check out old versions of this 2019 NFL Mock Draft in the archived mock section. Follow @walterfootball for NFL Draft updates. ***

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State
If the Buccaneers finish with the worst record in the NFL next season – I have this happening in my NFL Season Previews – then there will be some question as to whether they’ll take a new quarterback and move on from Jameis Winston. I don’t think they will. I believe they’ll give Winston one more chance with a new coaching staff.

If this is the case, the Buccaneers can select one of the two prospects in the 2019 NFL Draft. That currently looks to be Ed Oliver and Nick Bosa. Of the two, the latter makes the most sense because of the Vita Vea selection. The Buccaneers signed Jason Pierre-Paul and Vinny Curry this offseason, but at least one of them is likely to bust, and neither is the long-term answer anyway.

Nick Bosa has a tremendous skill set, and he has been very productive for Ohio State in 2017 thus far after recording five sacks last year.

Pick change; previously Greg Little, OT

  2. Buffalo Bills: Ed Oliver, DT, Houston
The Bills lost Marcell Dareus via trade during the 2017 season. Kyle Williams will retire soon. They don’t have a viable replacement for either; Star Lotulelei was signed, but he’ll prove to be a bust.

Ed Oliver was a highly productive defensive lineman for Houston, recording a ridiculous 22.5 TFLs as a freshman. He was a monster this season and currently projects to be a top-five pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

  3. Miami Dolphins: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
The Dolphins will give Ryan Tannehill one more chance in 2018 after not drafting a quarterback. Tannehill will have failed if Miami has the first-overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, so it’ll be looking for a new franchise signal-caller.

Justin Herbert played in just eight games last year, but has some major potential. He was accurate, completing 67 percent of his passes, and he also has nice size at 6-6, 225.

Pick change; previously Shea Patterson, QB

  4. Cleveland Browns: David Edwards, OT, Wisconsin
The Browns need to find a replacement for Joe Thomas. I have to imagine that this is something they’ll target early in the 2019 NFL Draft, which has some nice tackle prospects.

Taking over for Ryan Ramczyk, David Edwards was Wisconsin’s best blocker in 2017. He easily could’ve declared as a redshirt sophomore for the 2018 NFL Draft.

  5. New York Jets: Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson
Some Jet fan e-mailers were furious that their team didn’t add an edge rusher in the previous draft. My response was that this was more than just a short rebuilding process, and I’m sure general manager Mike Maccagnan was well aware that the 2019 NFL Draft will be loaded with edge rushers.

Clelin Ferrell has elite athleticism, and he could’ve been a top-15, or even a top-10 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft had he declared (perhaps No. 6 overall to the Colts.)

Pick change; previously Nick Bosa, DE

  6. Arizona Cardinals: Raekwon Davis, DE/DT, Alabama
The Cardinals failed to secure a replacement for Calais Campbell yet again, but I have to believe that general manager Steve Keim is well aware of how loaded the 2019 NFL Draft class is of defensive linemen.

Raekwon Davis had a dominant performance in the national championship to cap off his excellent 2017 season in which he logged 8.5 sacks.

  7. Dallas Cowboys: Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson
David Irving has off-the-field problems and will be a free agent entering the 2019 offseason. Considering Dallas’ salary-cap woes, it could be difficult for the team to retain him, and they may not even want to because of his issues.

Dexter Lawrence is a monster of a defensive tackle (6-5, 340) and is exceptional at both stuffing the run and pressuring the quarterback.

Pick change; previously Christian Wilkins, DT

  8. Cincinnati Bengals: Trey Adams, OT, Washington
The Bengals traded for Cordy Glenn and drafted Billy Price, but they still need help on the offensive line.

Trey Adams was a fixture in my 2018 mock before tearing his ACL. He’s returning to Washington for 2018, but if he fully recovers, he’ll be a top-10 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

  9. Baltimore Ravens: Joe Jackson, DE, Miami
Terrell Suggs will turn 37 a few months after the 2019 NFL Draft. The Ravens have some nice, young pass-rushers, but it might be difficult for them to pass on a blue-chip edge player if one is available for them in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Joe Jackson has been very productive for Miami, thanks to his great speed, length and size.

  10. Jacksonville Jaguars: Shea Patterson, QB, Michigan
The Jaguars gave Blake Bortles a new contract, but it’s a team-friendly deal they can get out of easily. I imagine they’ll want to after the 2018 season.

Shea Patterson completed 64 percent of his passes during the 2017 campaign. League contacts have told Charlie Campbell that Patterson compares favorably to Johnny Manziel, but without all of the off-the-field concerns. I think Patterson will have a realistic shot of being the top pick in the 2019 NFL Draft if Jim Harbaugh is able to coach him up.

Pick change; previously Jarrett Stidham, QB

  11. Indianapolis Colts: Rashan Gary, DE/DT, Michigan
The Colts, once again, should target the best player available. This time, they can focus on their defensive front, which I believe they would have done had Bradley Chubb been available.

Rashan Gary is an athletic freak. He wasn’t extremely productive as a freshman, but he recorded five sacks and 11 tackles for loss in 2017. His teammates believe he’ll be a top-10 pick.

Pick change; previously Dexter Lawrence, DT

  12. Seattle Seahawks: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn
The Seahawks lost several key defenders this offseason, including Sheldon Richardson and Michael Bennett. A new force in the defensive interior is needed.

Derrick Brown has great size (6-5, 316) and tons of upside. He can be a great interior disruptor if he lives up to his potential.

Pick change; previously Raekwon Davis, DT

  13. New York Giants: Jarrett Stidham, QB, Auburn
General manager Dave Gettleman passed on Sam Darnold, but I have a feeling that he’ll stubbornly eschew the signal-callers again, opting to always go the veteran route. I could see him going after Nick Foles as a free agent next offseason. Still, this is definitely an option.

Jarrett Stidham struggled early in his first year at Auburn, but improved as the season progressed. He eventually knocked off Alabama and Georgia. Sources told Charlie Campbell that scouts have been very impressed with Stidham. You can read about it in the NFL Hot Press.

Pick change; previously Justin Herbert, QB

  14. Tennessee Titans: A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss
The Titans signed Eric Decker last offseason, but he was a big-time failure. Tennessee could be in the market for another receiving upgrade.

A.J. Brown has a tremendous athleticism, and he was a great weapon for Ole Miss last year.

  15. Denver Broncos: Devin White, LB, LSU
The Broncos wanted Haason Reddick in the 2017 NFL Draft, but the Cardinals snatched him off the board seven picks prior to Denver being on the clock. Here’s John Elway’s chance to obtain a stud linebacker.

Devin White was extremely productive this past season, logging 133 tackles. A projected running back, White is still learning the position, which is crazy considering how great he was in 2017. White is already generating a buzz for the 2019 NFL Draft, as Charlie Campbell reported in the NFL Hot Press.

  16. Detroit Lions: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
The Lions tried to sign Malcolm Butler in free agency, but failed. They’ll need to find another starting cornerback across from Darius Slay.

Greedy Williams had a spectacular freshman season with six interceptions. Williams has great size (6-2, 182) and quickness, and he has top-10 upside.
