*** 2020 NFL MOCK DRAFT (2 rounds) updated Oct. 2. This mock draft will be updated occasionally. Check out old versions of this 2020 NFL Mock Draft in the archived mock section. Follow @walterfootball for NFL Draft updates. ***

  1. Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
It's quite obvious by now that the Dolphins are tanking. Miami acquired Josh Rosen, but that doesn't matter. Teams have selected plenty of first-round quarterbacks after using a pick in the second frame on a signal-caller the year before. The Cardinals even established precedent for doing so with consecutive first-rounders!

The hero of the national championship against Georgia, Tua Tagovailoa has a big arm and scrambling ability, and will undoubtedly draw comparisons to Russell Wilson.

  2. Cincinnati Bengals: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
The Bengals like Ryan Finley enough to keep him out of the preseason finale. However, if they're in position to select a franchise quarterback, they almost have to do it or trade out of this pick.

Justin Herbert had an up-and-down 2018 season, which included a great performance against Stanford. He was considered the top quarterback prospect for the 2019 NFL Draft before making the mistake of returning to school, where he's risking injury and regression.

  3. Washington Redskins: Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia
Trent Williams has vowed never to play for the Redskins again, and he has kept his word thus far. Washington needs a new left tackle to protect Dwayne Haskins.

Andrew Thomas has been very impressive, using his great athleticism and length. NFL personnel believe he has tremendous potential.

Pick change; previously Chase Young, DE

  4. Denver Broncos: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama
Emmanuel Sanders is now in his 30s, so he may not be on Denver's roster for much longer. With that in mind, the Broncos could go after a new No. 1 receiver for Joe Flacco/Drew Lock.

Jerry Jeudy is a height-weight-speed freak in the mold of a Julio Jones. He's the next great Alabama receiver, and if he performs up to his skill set, he'll have a great chance to be a top-10 pick.

Pick change; previously Grant Delpit, S

  5. New York Jets: Chase Young, DE, Ohio State
The Jets would love a blue-chip left tackle or a No. 1 receiver, but the best prospect available would help their pass rush, which is another area of need.

Chase Young enjoyed a breakout season in the wake of Nick Bosa's injury. He's a very athletic edge player with great size (6-5, 265).

Pick change; previously Andrew Thomas, OT

  6. Arizona Cardinals: Derrick Brown, DE/DT, Auburn
The Cardinals have needed a strong presence on the defensive line ever since losing Calais Campbell to the Jaguars. Here's a great replacement for Campbell.

Derrick Brown has great size (6-5, 316) and tons of upside. He can be a great interior disruptor if he lives up to his potential. He had a chance to be a top-five pick (No. 4 overall?) in the 2019 NFL Draft before he returned to school.

  7. Miami Dolphins: Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado
The Dolphins will need a receiver to pair with Tua Tagovailoa. Luckily for them, there will be plenty of options in the 2020 NFL Draft, and they currently have two top-seven picks in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Laviska Shenault drew rave reviews during spring practices preceding the 2018 campaign, and he didn't disappoint. The 6-foot-2 play-maker was college football's best receiver as a mere sophomore (at least prior to his injury.)

Pick change; previously Jerry Jeudy, WR

  8. Atlanta Falcons: Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio State
Atlanta's cornerback play has been abysmal this year, as evidenced by their inability to stop Marcus Mariota and his receivers in Week 4. Here's some help in that regard.

Jeff Okudah is a big, athletic, speedy cornerback with immense upside.

Pick change; previously A.J. Epenesa, DE

  9. Indianapolis Colts: Paulson Adebo, CB, Stanford
The Colts don't have any glaring needs, outside of quarterback. There are no signal-callers worth taking here, so Indianapolis could go after an upgrade in their secondary.

Paulson Adebo has great size, coverage skills and play-making ability.

Pick change; previously Cameron Dantzler, CB

  10. Jacksonville Jaguars: Grant Delpit, S, LSU
Jacksonville's safety play this year has been underwhelming, so the team may pursue an upgrade early in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Grant Delpit is an exceptional talent who figures to be a top-10 prospect when he declares.

Pick change; previously Paulson Adebo, CB

  11. Baltimore Ravens: A.J. Epenesa, DE/OLB, Iowa
The Ravens selected Marquise Brown in the opening round of the 2019 NFL Draft, but I get the sense that they were hoping Clelin Ferrell would fall to them. They need to find replacements for Terrell Suggs and Za'Darius Smith.

A.J. Epenesa was a five-star recruit who showed some major promise as a freshman, registering 4.5 sacks. He was excellent in 2018.

Pick change; previously Terrell Lewis, DE/OLB

  12. New York Giants: Isaiah Simmons, S, Clemson
The Giants' secondary is an abomination. They need to replace Landon Collins, so they can do that with this selection.

Isaiah Simmons flew all around the field and was a physical presence for Clemson last year.

  13. Los Angeles Chargers: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
The Chargers' secondary is a mess. Part of that has to do with injuries, but they've needed a talented cornerback across from Casey Hayward for quite some time.

Trevon Diggs, younger brother of Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs, began as a receiver at Alabama, but was tremendous last season at cornerback before suffering a foot injury.

Pick change; previously Jeff Okudah, CB

  14. Philadelphia Eagles: Raekwon Davis, DE/DT, Alabama
The Eagles love beefing up the trenches. They'll need an interior disruptor if they don't believe Malik Jackson can stay healthy.

Raekwon Davis had a dominant performance in the national championship win over Georgia to cap off his excellent 2017 season in which he logged 8.5 sacks.

  15. Tennessee Titans: Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia
Marcus Mariota has 12 more games to prove that he deserves to be Tennessee's starting quarterback in 2020. If he fails to get the Titans to the playoffs, the front office will look into using a first-round pick on a quarterback.

Jake Fromm was tremendous as a rookie for SEC champion Georgia. He has a great skill set and was the very early favorite to be the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has been passed by a couple of prospects, but he's still a first-round prospect.

  16. Carolina Panthers: Cameron Dantzler, CB, Mississippi State
The Panthers didn't address cornerback last offseason, which seemed like a mistake. They need to get better at the position.

Cameron Dantzler has great size (6-2, 195) and will be a first-round pick if he runs well in pre-draft workouts.

Pick change; previously Trevon Diggs, CB
