2023 Fantasy Football Rankings – Running Backs

Last Updated: September 7

Top 10 | 11-20 | 21-40 | 41-75 |

Other Positions: QB | RB | WR | TE | DraftSharks’ Projections
11. Kenneth Walker, RB, Seahawks. Bye: 5.

Kenneth Walker was an impressive runner during his rookie year. However, the Seahawks inexplicably used a second-round pick on a running back, so Walker may have to share some touches with that player.

Projected 2023 Fantasy Stats: 1,160 rushing yards. 23 catches. 160 receiving yards. 11 total TDs.
Projected 2023 Fantasy Points: 198.

12. Alexander Mattison, RB, Vikings. Bye: 13.

Alexander Mattison was referred to as an every-down running back by his head coach. This is key because it sounds like Dalvin Cook could be traded or cut soon, opening the door for Mattison to be a great fantasy producer.

Projected 2023 Fantasy Stats: 1,040 rushing yards. 54 catches. 460 receiving yards. 8 total TDs.
Projected 2023 Fantasy Points: 198.

13. Joe Mixon, RB, Bengals. Bye: 7.

Joe Mixon looked like he was running in quicksand at times last year, finishing with only 814 rushing yards. However, he caught a career-high 60 receptions. Mixon has some off-the-field issues that could keep him off the field in 2023.

Projected 2023 Fantasy Stats: 980 rushing yards. 54 catches. 390 receiving yards. 10 total TDs.
Projected 2023 Fantasy Points: 197.

14. Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, Patriots. Bye: 11.

Rhamondre Stevenson had some great performances in 2022 until late in the year when he had some fumbles. Damien Harris is gone, so Stevenson could have a big season.

Projected 2023 Fantasy Stats: 1,020 rushing yards. 68 catches. 460 receiving yards. 7 total TDs.
Projected 2023 Fantasy Points: 190.

15. Cam Akers, RB, Rams. Bye: 10.

Cam Akers struggled in his return last year, but things changed on Christmas. This was when we saw him explode for three consecutive 100-yard rushing performances. This should allow him to have a decent 2023 campaign.

Projected 2023 Fantasy Stats: 1,180 rushing yards. 20 catches. 170 receiving yards. 9 total TDs.
Projected 2023 Fantasy Points: 189.

16. Dameon Pierce, RB, Texans. Bye: 7.

Dameon Pierce got lots of hype in August and lived up to it during the regular season. He would have breached 1,000 rushing yards had he not gotten injured and missed four games.

Projected 2023 Fantasy Stats: 1,150 rushing yards. 38 catches. 240 receiving yards. 8 total TDs.
Projected 2023 Fantasy Points: 187.

17. Isiah Pacheco, RB, Chiefs. Bye: 10.

Isiah Pacheco took over as the Chiefs’ starting running back in the middle of the season. He was mediocre for a while, but caught fire in the playoffs.

Projected 2023 Fantasy Stats: 1,050 rushing yards. 20 catches. 140 receiving yards. 9 total TDs.
Projected 2023 Fantasy Points: 173.

18. Aaron Jones, RB, Packers. Bye: 6.

Aaron Jones has continued to lose touches to A.J. Dillon. However, Adams’ reception total increased with Davante Adams gone. Aaron Rodgers’ departure will hurt.

Projected 2023 Fantasy Stats: 1,010 rushing yards. 50 catches. 330 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.
Projected 2023 Fantasy Points: 170.

19. Khalil Herbert, RB, Bears. Bye: 13.

Khalil Herbert, who scored on a 56-yard reception in the preseason opener, was the only running back used with the starters. This could eventually change later in the year, but Herbert is being undervalued at the moment.

Projected 2023 Fantasy Stats: 1,020 rushing yards. 21 catches. 150 receiving yards. 7 total TDs.
Projected 2023 Fantasy Points: 169.

20. Alvin Kamara, RB, Saints. Bye: 11.

Alvin Kamara looked like the pre-2022 Alvin Kamara in his preseason debut. Kamara was lacking explosion last year, but it returned in this game. He dashed for 14 yards on three carries and also caught two passes for 21 receiving yards. He has to serve a three-game suspension, but he’ll be a great producer upon his return.

Projected 2023 Fantasy Stats: 820 rushing yards. 46 catches. 400 receiving yards. 7 total TDs.
Projected 2023 Fantasy Points: 169.
