For many years now, the Seattle Seahawks’ offensive line has been one of the team’s weaknesses. Franchise quarterback Russell Wilson can make the line’s job more difficult because he can be prone to holding onto the ball for a long time, but there is no doubt that Seattle has needed more blocking talent to protect Wilson and improve the run blocking. Team sources told WalterFootball.com that targeting offensive line help is the Seahawks’ favored priority with their first selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, the 41st-overall during the second round.

The Seahawks are without their first-round pick thanks to the Jamal Adams trade, but fortunately for them, there could be some quality offensive line prospects available in Round 2. The Seahawks like Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum, although he probably won’t get to their second-round pick. Seattle also really likes LSU guard Ed Ingram and Boston College guard Zion Johnson. Another blocker who intrigues the organization is Georgia’s Jamaree Salyer, who is more of a guard for the NFL but played offensive tackle for the Bulldogs. All of those linemen are viewed as being capable of starting quickly.

Free agency could have an impact on Seattle’s draft plans, plus there could always be an unforeseen value who slides to the franchise’s second-round pick. Sources with the team, however, feel the Seahawks’ priority at No. 41 is adding more talent to the offensive line.
