There have been a few shifts in the class rankings since the previous update. Ohio State remains No. 1 and currently has the only A+ graded class in the nation. LSU, Clemson North Carolina and Oregon round out the top five, while three of the next five are SEC programs.

  1. Ohio State Buckeyes (18 commitments)
The Buckeyes have been leading the pack for much of this recruiting cycle even though they missed out on top cornerback Tony Grimes.
    Class grade: A+

  2. LSU Tigers (16 commitments)
It’s been a heck of a summer for the Tigers with five commitments in July, including top in-state wide receiver prospect Chris Hilton.
    Class grade: A

  3. Clemson Tigers (13 commitments)
The ACC’s Tigers have been fairly quiet on the recruiting front since the summer began, but they remain in play for plenty of big fish.
    Class grade: A

  4. North Carolina Tar Heels (17 commitments)
This ranking will likely change by the end of August if Grimes goes through with his plan to re-classify as a Class of 2020 prospect and enroll early at North Carolina next month.
    Class grade: A-

  5. Oregon Ducks (17 commitments)
The recent commitments of Tony Franklin and Jaylin Davies prove that Oregon is the class of the Pac-12 right now.
    Class grade: A-

  6. Tennessee Volunteers (23 commitments)
The Volunteers’ amazing hot streak has come to a halt thanks in part to some recent de-commitments. Jeremy Pruitt needs to get the momentum back.
    Class grade: B+

  7. USC Trojans (17 commitments)
The Trojans have commitments from two of top-10 quarterbacks in the nation and have been surprisingly strong in Texas.
    Class grade: B+

  8. Alabama Crimson Tide (12 commitments)
Last month, Alabama’s class was outside of the top 25, but Nick Saban moves quickly and the Crimson Tide will continue to surge.
    Class grade: B+

  9. Texas Longhorns (14 commitments)
The Longhorns have been cleaning up with in-state targets and building a very impressive defensive backs class.
    Class grade: B+

  10. Florida Gators (20 commitments)
The Gators have been solid, but they still need a big game-changer on defense and are hoping Leonard Taylor’s commitment on August 6 brings good news.
    Class grade: B+
