2024 NBA Mock Draft

Detroit Pistons: Alex Sarr, PF, France

The Pistons have impressive talent 1-5, so they should just pick who they like more from Sarr, Robert Dillingham or Zaccharie Risacher. Pairing Sarr with Jalen Duren would be a wise move. The Pistons would have potentially two star bigs, which would give them an identity.

Washington Wizards: Zaccharie Risacher, F, France

The Wizards at pick No. 2 are in very solid shape, as the forward Detroit says “no” to will likely go to them. Risacher is already an elite shooter and defender who could grow next to Bilal Couilibaly. Robert Dillingham is a legitimate candidate who could have a John Wall type of career, but Risacher seems to be more Washington’s style.

Charlotte Hornets: Robert Dillingham, PG, Kentucky

Dillingham is my No. 1-rated prospect for the 2024 NBA Draft, and I have no doubt he will be a 10X All-Star. Yes, the Hornets have a star point guard in LaMelo Ball, but Ball is hurt a lot and has the size to play with the smaller Dillingham. This would be a home run.

Portland Trail Blazers: Reed Sheppard, G, Kentucky

The Trail Blazers have a lot of young talent, but they lack a guard who is an elite shooter and defender and who can run the offense. Sheppard can also give you 20 points. Pairing him with Scoot Henderson would be smart and as Malcolm Brogdon might be traded, and probably should be, Sheppard could easily replace Brogdon. Sheppard also has no issue coming off the bench if needed, which is important for a rebuilding team.

San Antonio Spurs: Dalton Knecht, SG, Tennessee

The Spurs need another All-Star talent, at least one more 20-point scorer, and help at guard, which Tennessee superstar Dalton Knecht would give them. He would could be an excellent Robin for Victor Wembanyama’s Batman and give the Spurs a special secondary scorer.

Toronto Raptors: Nikola Topic, PG, Serbia

It took the Raptors a historic tank job for them to get to pick No. 6 and keep their pick, although the lottery could return the selection to San Antonio. With this pick, taking a chance on 6-foot-7 Serbian point guard Nikola Topic would be a smart selection. Immanuel Quickley and Topic are different styles of point guards who would play well together. Topic is a potential NBA All-Star, and Toronto could simply move Quickley to the bench.

Memphis Grizzlies: Donovan Clingan, C, Connecticut

The Grizzlies traded Steven Adams and need a center. If the No. 1 big man in the 2024 NBA Draft is still there at No. 7, this would be an easy choice. The 7-foot-2 two-time National Champion will be a double-double machine and an elite defender. Clingan will likely be able to start as a rookie.

Utah Jazz: Isaiah Collier, PG, USC

Collin Sexton is a baller, but he’s a combo guard and the Jazz need a point guard. Some disagree on if Collier is actually a point guard, but he is to me, he just needs proper development. Collier would fit perfectly next to potential All-Star Keyonte George.

Houston Rockets: Ja’Kibe Walter, G, Baylor

The Rockets have few needs, although they probably should trade Jalen Green, as he’s too similar to Fred VanVleet and they still have Amen Thompson to start for him. Therefore, Houston could then use this pick to replace Green, as Walter and him are similar.

Atlanta Hawks: Matas Buzelis, F, USA

This was a tough projection because there are a lot of fits for the Hawks. They might – probably will – trade Trae Young, and although Dejounte Murray would move to point guard, the Hawks would have a 6-foot-10 point forward to help run the offense. He could be a 17-7-7 type at the three.

Chicago Bulls: Cody Williams, F, Colorado

The Bulls have two young keepers at guards in Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu, and while DeMar DeRozan has the small forward spot, the Bulls need improved help at the four. Williams has the offense, size, shooting, scoring and potential to help Chicago.

Oklahoma City Thunder: Stephon Castle, SG, Connecticut

The Thunder have this premium draft pick because of a trade, and so selecting an athlete and scorer like the National Title winner would be smart. Castle has strong playmaking ability and legit two guard size, so he would give Oklahoma City another young talent to add to its treasury.

Sacramento Kings: Kyle Filipowski, PF, Duke

The Kings need a starting four and another big man, and Filipowski could play as a four or five and is an excellent shooting and scoring big man. He would be a very strong partner with Sacramento’s All-Star big, Domantas Sabonis.

Portland Trail Blazers: Zach Edey, C, Purdue

Edey is a two-time National Player of the Year, and at 7-foot-4, you know he will be a plus rebounder and shot-blocker. He has a lot of offensive talent as well, but scoring in the pros will be a lot harder. The Trail Blazers need one more big man, and Edey could be a franchise center.

Miami Heat: Johnny Furphy, SG, Kansas

The Australian-born Furphy has excellent size at 6-foot-9, is a big-time athlete and can shoot. He needs some seasoning, but he has the versatility and talents that Pat Riley loves.
