2021 NFL Mock Draft - April 7
Rodrigo Blankenship, K, Georgia
Height: 6-1. Weight: 191.
Projected Round (2020): 4-6.
4/21/20: The Georgia "Hot Rod" was on a streak of perfection before a miss in overtime cost Georgia a loss to South Carolina. He hit a long of 50 yards in 2019 and was 27-for-33 - 82 percent. He had three misses in the 40-yard range, going 8-of-11, and two in the 50-yard range, going 3-of-5. Blankenship is the favorite to be the first kicker taken in the 2020 NFL Draft.
6/22/19: In 2018, Blankenship was 19-of-23 on his field goals with a long of 53. He was excellent in 2017, connecting on 87 percent of his field goals. That season Blankenship had a long of 55 yards and was 2-for-2 in the 50+ range. He was 4-of-7 in the 40-yard range.
Tyler Bass, K, Georgia Southern
Height: 5-10. Weight: 185.
Projected Round (2020): 6-FA.
4/21/20: Bass showed off a quality leg at the Senior Bowl with an impressive week of practice. As a senior, he was only 71.4 percent on 20-of-28 kicks, posting a long of 49 yards. Bass was better as a junior, when he connected on 91 percent - 19-of-21 - of his kicks, including a long of 50 yards. He kicked better at the Senior Bowl than his senior year stats suggest.
Jet Toner, K, Stanford
Height: 6-4. Weight: 201.
Projected Round (2020): 7-FA.
4/21/20: Toner made a 51-yard field goal in 2019, but he also missed four kicks and was 12-for-16.
6/22/19: Toner was 14-of-15 in 2018, showing excellent accuracy, but his longest field goal was from 46 yards out, so his leg strength was not really put to the test. In 2017, Toner showed an accurate leg, hitting 5-of-7 in the 40-yard range. That season, he was 21-of-26 with a long field goal of 46 yards. Toner needs to show more leg to hit field goals from 50-plus yards in 2019.
Ricky Aguayo, K, Florida State
Height: 6-2. Weight: 205.
Projected Round (2020): FA.
4/21/20: Aguayo made a 53-yard field goal in 2019, but he was just 7-of-14 on field goal attempts. He had four misses in the 40-yard range and two from over 50 yards.
6/22/19: Aguayo had a disappointing 2018 season, connecting on only 11-of 17 attempts with a long of 53. He generally has been a very accurate kicker for Florida State. In 2017, he connected on 18-of-21 field goals with a long of 51 yards. Aguayo was 19-for-26 in 2016. He has made 93-of-95 extra point attempts.
Jace Christmann, K, Mississippi State
Height: 6-0. Weight: 200.
Projected Round (2020): FA.
4/21/20: Christmann made 8-of-10 field goals in 2019 with a long of 51 yards.
6/22/19: Christmann was 12-of-16 with a long of 47 yards in 2018. In 2017, he was 12-of-14 with a long of 45 yards. He needs to show more deep range in 2019.
