  1. Brian Orakpo, Texas
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 263.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.66.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.70.
    Benchx225: 31. Vertical: 39.5. Broad: 10-10.
Projected Round (2009): Top 10 Pick.

2/24/09: Brian Orakpo reestablished himself as the top defensive end at the 2009 NFL Combine. However, I don’t think he did enough to put himself into consideration for third overall.

1/9/09: Brian Orakpo finished the year with 15.5 TFL and 10.5 sacks, but struggled against Alex Boone in the Nacho Cheese Doritos Fiesta Bowl. The latest I could see him going is No. 11 to Buffalo, though the Chiefs could still take him at No. 3.

11/16/08: Brian Orakpo has been dominant this season, registering 13 TFL ands 8.5 sacks in nine games. He’ll thrive at the combine as well, so it’s likely he’ll be a top-three selection come April.

5/7/08: Notched five sacks in 2007. Brian Orakpo’s freakish athleticism will get him noticed.

2007: Brian Orakpo recorded 4.5 sacks despite starting just one game as a sophomore. He is now the full-time end, taking Tim Crowder’s place. Orakpo will have a role in someone’s 3-4 defense.

  2. Tyson Jackson, LSU
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 295.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.85.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.91.
    Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
    Benchx225: 20. Vertical: 28.5.
Projected Round (2009): Top 10 Pick.

11/16/08: Tyson Jackson has 4.5 sacks this year, but he won’t provide much of a pass rush in the NFL. He’ll be great against the run.

5/7/08: Still the best 4-3 left end or 3-4 end available in this class.

2007: Tyson Jackson has announced that he’ll be returning for his senior season.

Pretty much the same build as Adam Carriker, only with a much faster Projected 40 Time. Will play up front in the 4-3 or 3-4. Notched 8.5 sacks in 2006.

  3. Aaron Maybin, Penn State
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 253.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.61.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.89.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.59.
    Benchx225: 22. Vertical: 40.5.
Projected Round (2009): Top 18 Pick.

3/22/09: Like night and day… after a horrific Combine, Aaron Maybin shined at Penn State’s Pro Day. Maybin put on four more pounds. He also dropped his 40 by three tenths. His vertical (40.5) and broad jump (10-10) had jaws dropping.

2/24/09: Mitch King ran just as fast as Aaron Maybin? Huh!? I’m telling you… I don’t know if it’s going to come out or not, but I really think someone screwed up the official 40s.

2/22/09: Better than 240, but 249 isn’t going to get Aaron Maybin many looks from 4-3 teams.

1/14/09: It’s that dreaded P-Word. Aaron Maybin, just 20 years old, is very undersized, but has tons of potential. Maybin, declaring as a redshirt sophomore, had just one productive year at Penn State. He collected 20 TFL and 12 sacks in 2008.

  4. Everette Brown, Florida State
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 256.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.60.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.73.
    Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
    Benchx225: 26. Vertical: 31.5.
Projected Round (2009): Top 25 Pick.

1/9/09: The top 3-4 end in this class, Everette Brown notched 21.5 TFL, 13.5 sacks and four forced fumbles in 2008.

1/8/09: Pretty much a no-brainer for Everette Brown to declare early. He just had a big year and he already graduated.

11/16/08: Everette Brown’s production has been amazing this season. In nine games, he has 15 TFL and nine sacks, which could prompt him to declare early.

7/30/08: A future right end or 3-4 rush linebacker, Everette Brown has proven to be a terror to quarterbacks; as a sophomore, Brown registered 11.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. As an added bonus, Brown is reliable; he has yet to miss a game in his career as a Seminole.

  5. Robert Ayers, Tennessee
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 272.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.73.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.89.
    Benchx225: 18. Vertical: .
    Projected Round (2009): 1.

1/9/09: Robert Ayers had a monstrous senior campaign and was consequently named to the All-SEC First Team. Ayers collected just three sacks, but had 15.5 TFL.

  6. Michael Johnson, Georgia Tech
    Height: 6-7. Weight: 266.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.63.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.75.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.59.
    Benchx225: 28. Vertical: 38.5.
    Projected Round (2009): 1-2.

3/10/09: Michael Johnson ran a 4.59 at his Pro Day. The Lions reportedly had him at 4.49 unofficially. Al Davis, meanwhile, had him at 3.39. Some team will take Johnson in Round 1 despite his work-ethic issues.

2/24/09: As expected, Michael Johnson lit up the 2009 NFL Combine. Jon Gruden went as far to say that he was a “Julius Peppers clone.” Johnson has work-ethic issues, but coaches are arrogant; some will think that they can turn him around.

2/22/09: Michael Johnson put on about 10 pounds to his frame. We’ll see if his 40 is affected by it.

1/9/09: People to love to bash Michael Johnson for his lack of production, yet the Georgia Tech end compiled 17.5 TFL, nine sacks and seven passes broken up as a senior.

11/16/08: Athleticism has never been Michael Johnson’s problem; it was the lack of production on the field. However, that has changed. In 10 games, he has 12 TFL and six sacks. He could go top 10.

  7. Connor Barwin, Cincinnati
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 256.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.60.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.66.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.47.
    Benchx225: 23. Vertical: 41.5.
    Projected Round (2009): 1-2.

2/24/09: Connor Barwin had an outstanding combine. He’s as close to a second-round lock as you can get. There are a ton of teams atop Round 2 looking for rush linebackers, so Barwin may go to one of them.

1/9/09: Connor Barwin finished strong, compiling 15 TFL, 11 sacks, seven passes broken up and three blocked kicks in 14 games.

11/16/08: Connor Barwin has emerged for the upstart Bearcats, registering seven sacks and 9.5 TFL. More impressively, he has three blocked kicks!

  8. Larry English, Northern Illinois
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 251.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.70.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.90.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.70.
    Benchx225: 36. Vertical: .
    Projected Round (2009): 1-2.

2/25/09: Turns out Larry English is actually 255; not 274. With that in mind, his 40 was pretty disappointing, though the same can be said about almost everyone who attended the 2009 NFL Combine.

2/22/09: I’m not sure if this is a typo, but Larry English was listed at 6-2, 274. He was supposed to be 254. Hopefully this will be cleared up soon.

1/9/09: Larry English finished his senior campaign with 14.5 TFL, eight sacks and three forced fumbles.

11/16/08: Larry English is not going to match the 10.5 sacks he had in 2007. He has 4.5 sacks through nine games.

5/7/2008: Despite being the only talented defensive lineman on Northern Illinois’ front, Larry English still managed 10.5 sacks, giving him 22.5 the past two years. I don’t care whom you’re playing – numbers like that can’t be ignored. Look for English to shoot up draft boards like fellow MAC end Jason Jones did in April.

2007: Larry English recorded 12 sacks as a sophomore.

  9. Lawrence Sidbury, Richmond
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 265.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.75.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.64.
    Benchx225: 28. Vertical: 35.
    Projected Round (2009): 2.

2/24/09: Even unofficially (the official times are obviously screwed up), Lawrence Sidbury ran one of the quickest 40s at the 2009 NFL Combine. He really helped himself on a day in which numerous defensive linemen disappointed.

1/9/09: An All-CAA First Team member, Lawrence Sidbury had 14.5 TFL and 6.5 sacks for national champion Richmond.

5/7/08: Lawrence Sidbury should be able to play in any scheme. He had eight tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in 13 starts last season.

  10. Paul Kruger, Utah
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 263.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.64.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.90.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.79.
    Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 32.5.
    Projected Round (2009): 2-3.

1/12/09: Coming off a national championship victory over Alabama, Paul Kruger has decided to declare for the 2009 NFL Draft as a mere redshirt sophomore. Though he could stay in school until he’s 2011, I really don’t have a problem with this; chances are, his stock will never be higher than it is now. In 13 games, Kruger recorded 61 tackles, 16.5 TFL, 7.5 sacks and seven passes broken up.

  11. Phillip Hunt, Houston
    Height: 6-1. Weight: 244.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.65.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.75.
    Benchx225: 14. Vertical: 41.5.
    Projected Round (2009): 3-4.

1/9/09: A pretty obvious choice as an All-Conference USA first-teamer, Phillip Hunt registered 18.5 TFL and 14 sacks this season.

11/16/08: One of the hottest defenders in the nation this year, Phillip Hunt has 13.5 TFL and 10 sacks in nine games.

  12. Mitch King, Iowa
    Height: 6-1. Weight: 278.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.72.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.89.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.89.
    Benchx225: 23. Vertical: 33.5.
    Projected Round (2009): 4.

1/9/09: Mitch King’s 15.5 TFL were pretty impressive. He had 54 tackles and two sacks on the year.

11/16/08: Should be a solid 3-4 reserve in the NFL for a number of years.

5/7/08: Mitch King had 4.5 sacks in 2007, and is looking like a solid, mid-round defensive end in the 2009 Draft.

  13. Brandon Williams, Texas Tech
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 252.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.72.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.90.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.78.
    Benchx225: 18. Vertical: 33.5.
    Projected Round (2009): 4-5.

1/14/09: Brandon Williams has chosen to declare for the 2009 NFL Draft a year early. I can’t say I agree with this. Unless he has an amazing combine, Williams has no shot to be a Day 1 pick. Williams recorded 15.5 TFL and 13 sacks as a junior.

7/30/08: In the same boat as a few other players at the bottom of this list. Brandon Williams needs a faster 40 to warrant draft consideration, despite the fact that he registered six sacks and qualified for the All-Big XII second team as a mere true sophomore.

  14. Brandon Long, Michigan State
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 254.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.70.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.61.
    Benchx225: 32. Vertical: 37.5.
    Projected Round (2009): 4-5.

3/31/09: Brandon Long blew everyone away with a 4.61 40 and a 37.5-inch vertical at his Pro Day. Long had 5.5 sacks as a senior.

  15. Kyle Moore, USC
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 272.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.83.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.89.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.76.
    Benchx225: 22. Vertical: .
    Projected Round (2009): 4-5.

1/9/09: Managed 9.5 TFL and five sacks as a senior.

5/7/08: Starting 10 games at defensive end for the Trojans, and managed two sacks and two picks.

2007: Kyle Moore appeared in all 13 games as a sophomore, recording five tackles. Moore, listed as a starter for 2007, has a pretty solid 40 at his impressive 275-pound frame.

  16. Matt Shaughnessy, Wisconsin
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 266.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.66.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.91.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.86.
    Benchx225: 24. Vertical: .
    Projected Round (2009): 5.

1/9/09: Matt Shaughnessy finished the year with eight TFL and four sacks. Will probably go higher than he should because of the lack of defensive end depth in this class.

11/16/08: Through 10 games, Matt Shaughnessy has three sacks and six TFL. 2007: A full-time starter as a sophomore, Matt Shaughnessy had four sacks in 2006. Yet another pure pass-rusher in this class, Shaughnessy is a high-character player that coaches love to have.

  17. Orion Martin, Virginia Tech
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 260.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.70.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.88.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.70.
    Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 31.
    Projected Round (2009): 5-6.

1/9/09: Orion Martin finished strong, collecting 13 TFL, 7.5 sacks and four passes broken up.

5/7/08: Probably a right end in the 3-4 at the next level. Orion Martin notched 78 tackles and 4.5 sacks last season.

  18. Henry Melton, Texas
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 269.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.72.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.64.
    Benchx225: . Vertical: 34.5.
    Projected Round (2009): 5-6.

  19. David Veikune, Hawaii
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 257.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.84.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.87.
    Benchx225: 35. Vertical: .
    Projected Round (2009): 5-6.

1/9/09: David Veikune finished his senior campaign with 16.5 TFL and nine sacks.

11/16/08: His 40 is a problem, but David Veikune has 5.5 sacks and 11.5 TFL in 10 games this year.

  20. Pannel Egboh, Stanford
    Height: 6-6. Weight: 277.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.82.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.96.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.86.
    Benchx225: 26. Vertical: 35.
    Projected Round (2009): 5-6.

1/9/09: Pannel Egboh had 4.5 TFL and 1.5 sacks in 12 games as a senior. A sprained knee in the middle of the season limited his production.

5/7/2008: A potential left end or a 3-4 lineman at the next level, Pannel Egboh had six sacks in 2007. More impressively, he has 24 consecutive starts as of this writing.

  21. Stryker Sulak, Missouri
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 251.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.65.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.77.
    Benchx225: 22. Vertical: .
    Projected Round (2009): 6.

1/9/09: A situational pass-rusher in the NFL, Stryker Sulak notched 15.5 TFL, 10.5 sacks, six passes broken up and six forced fumbles as a senior.

11/16/08: I’m still concerned about Stryker Sulak’s 40, but he has 11 TFL and 6.5 sacks in 10 games.

5/7/08: Stryker Sulak is a blue-collar defensive end with a high motor, but his 40 at his size is a bit troublesome as far as his draft stock is concerned.

  22. Victor Butler, Oregon State
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 248.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.60.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.84.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.72.
    Benchx225: 26. Vertical: 33.
    Projected Round (2009): 6.

1/10/09: Victor Butler had a monstrous senior campaign, finishing with 65 tackles, 21.5 TFL, 12 sacks and four forced fumbles.

  23. Willie VanDeSteeg, Minnesota
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 255.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.75.
    Projected Round (2009): 6-7.

1/9/09: If Willie VanDeSteeg can improve upon his 40, he’ll be close to a mid-round lock. He finished the 2008 campaign with 19 TFL and 10.5 sacks.

11/16/08: Aside from his off-the-field issue, Willie VanDeSteeg is a solid player who gets to the quarterback. He has 15 TFL and 7.5 sacks in 10 games.

5/7/08: Last year, I wrote that Willie VanDeSteeg was impossible to contain. Well, that turned out to be far from the truth, as he was arrested and charged with assault in the winter. VanDeSteeg also suffered shoulder and hand injuries last year.

2007: Willie VanDeSteeg is a sack machine. As a sophomore, he recorded 10, earning himself a spot on the All-Big Ten second team. He’s nearly impossible to contain.

  24. Brandon Swain, West Texas A&M
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 256.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.72.
    Projected Round (2009): 6-FA.

5/7/08: Level of competition obviously has to be an issue, but Brandon Swain put up amazing numbers in 2007, including 14 sacks, 24.5 tackles for loss and five forced fumbles. A very intriguing prospect to say the least.

  25. Derek Walker, Illinois
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 268.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.74.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.99.
    Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 37.5.
    Projected Round (2009): 6-FA.

11/16/08: Derek Walker has six sacks this season – impressive, considering he’ll be a left end in the NFL.

2007: Derek Walker has a habit of getting to the quarterback, but he also missed some action in 2006 with an ankle injury.

  26. Tim Jamison, Michigan
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 256.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.75.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.09.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.92.
    Benchx225: 21. Vertical: .
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

2/24/09: After weighing 10 pounds lighter than he should have, Tim Jamison ran .3 slower than projected. Ouch.

2/22/09: Tim Jamison logs in at a disappointing 256; Michigan had him around 265.

1/9/09: An All-Big Ten honorable mention, Tim Jamison notched 10.5 TFL and 5.5 sacks in 2008.

11/16/08: Tim Jamison has just three sacks in 10 games this year. Major disappointment.

5/7/08: Tim Jamison had 5.5 sacks as a junior, giving him 14.5 for his career (I previously said he had 14.5 as a junior; I was looking at his career numbers instead). He’s very athletic and should be a force in the 4-3 or 3-4. He needs to work on staying healthy though.

2007: Part of Michigan’s defense that suddenly can’t stop anyone. Tim Jamison had five sacks as a sophomore.

  27. Maurice Evans, Penn State
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 270.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.72.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.99.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.75.
    Benchx225: 17. Vertical: .
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

1/9/09: Aside from Mark Mangino not landing a Dunkin Donuts endorsement deal, Maurice Evans’ three-sack campaign was the biggest disappointment in college football this year.

11/16/08: A huge disappointment. After getting into trouble this offseason, Maurice Evans has just two sacks in seven games.

5/7/08: Maurice Evans didn’t do much in 2006, but he made huge strides last year, accumulating 12.5 sacks as a mere sophomore.

  28. Jeremy Navarre, Maryland
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 285.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.92.
    Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
    Benchx225: 36. Vertical: .
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

1/9/09: Jeremy Navarre completed his senior campaign with 7.5 TFL and 2.5 sacks.

11/16/08: A 3-4 end who can get to the quarterback occasionally.

5/7/08: If Jeremy Navarre can get his 40 down, he’ll shoot up this board. He had 4.5 sacks in 13 starts in 2007.

  29. Everette Pedescleaux, Northern Iowa
    Height: 6-6. Weight: 305.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.98.
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

  30. Dan Skuta, Grand Valley State
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 249.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.78.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.76.
    Benchx225: 20. Vertical: 35.
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

  31. Nick Reed, Oregon
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 255.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.91.
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

1/9/09: Look at these figures: 13 sacks, 20 TFL, 12 quarterback hurries. I don’t see how someone doesn’t draft Nick Reed. He doesn’t have the measurables, but he can play.

11/16/08: It’s a shame. Nick Reed’s production is off the charts again (10 games, nine sacks, 14.5 TFL), but his 40 is awful.

5/7/08: I’d like to see Nick Reed get his 40 time down a bit, but you can’t say that his production isn’t there; Reed recorded 12 sacks in 2007, a Pac-10 season high.

  32. Neefy Moffett, Florida State
    Height: 6-1. Weight: 254.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.73.
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

1/9/09: Neefy Moffett finished strong, compiling 11 TFL and 5.5 sacks as a senior.

11/16/08: I said we’d find out about Neefy Moffett. In only six games, he has three sacks. 2007: Started two games as a sophomore. We’ll find out a lot more about Neefy Moffett this year.

  33. Zach Potter, Nebraska
    Height: 6-7. Weight: 279.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.93.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.92.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.93.
    Benchx225: 20. Vertical: .
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

1/9/09: Zach Potter, an All-Big XII honorable mention, had 12 TFL, 5.5 sacks, seven passes broken up and two picks in 2008.

  34. Ian Campbell, Kansas State
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 265.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.83.
    Combine 40 Time: DNP.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.99.
    Benchx225: . Vertical: 21.
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

1/9/09: Another 4.5-sack campaign for Ian Campbell. Campbell also had eight TFL.

5/7/08: Ian Campbell failed to follow up on his incredible sophomore campaign; he managed 4.5 sacks, a drop from 11.5 in 2006.

  35. Jarius Wynn, Georgia
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 272.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.81.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.00.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.94.
    Benchx225: 21. Vertical: 29.
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

1/9/09: Jarius Wynn finished with just three sacks on the year.

11/16/08: One sack in nine games, but Jarius Wynn isn’t much of a pass rusher anyway.

  36. Will Davis, Illinois
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 260.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.71.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.90.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.86.
    Benchx225: 27. Vertical: 34.
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

1/9/09: Finished with only 3.5 sacks after a brilliant junior campaign.

11/16/08: Though he had 10.5 sacks as a junior, Will Davis has recorded just 3.5 through 10 games in 2008.

5/7/08: Will Davis probably needs one more great year to really move up the charts. In addition to his awesome size-40 combo, he managed 10.5 sacks last year. I’d like to see him put on a little more bulk, but with a great 40, he could slide into the first day.

  37. Jameson Hartke, Ohio
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 264.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.76.
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

1/9/09: Jameson Hartke collected eight TFL and four sacks in his senior year.

2007: A member of the All-MAC first team, Jameson Hartke managed 5.5 sacks as a sophomore.

  38. Michael Bennett, Texas A&M
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 274.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.81.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.02.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.86.
    Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 36.5.
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

1/9/09: Let’s hope the Lions don’t confuse him with Michael Turner.

  39. Jamaal Westerman, Rutgers
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 257.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.72.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.78.
    Benchx225: 20. Vertical: .
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

1/9/09: Jamaal Westerman tore his bicep in December. Pretty bad timing.

11/16/08: Jamaal Westerman has 10 TFL, six sacks and a blocked kick this year.

2007: Jamaal Westerman, who made some noise as a sophomore (eight sacks), has decent speed considering his 256-pound frame.

  40. Kirston Pittman, LSU
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 250.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.68.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.69.
    Benchx225: 28. Vertical: 30.5.
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

1/9/09: Finished the year with 5.5 TFL and 2.5 sacks.

11/16/08: From 12 sacks all the way down to 1.5 in nine games this year.

5/7/08: So much for lingering injuries. Kirston Pittman returned to LSU’s lineup last year, and all he did was register 12 sacks.

2007: Actually played in 2007, but missed extensive time in 2005 and 2006 with injuries.

  41. Darius Davis, Wayne State
    Height: 6-1. Weight: 270.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.80.
    Benchx225: 15. Vertical: .
    Projected Round: 7-FA.

2/25/09: Check out a highlight reel of Darius Davis. 1/13/09: Qualifying for the NSIC First Team, Darius Davis compiled 47 tackles, nine TFL, seven sacks and five quarterback hurries.

5/7/08: Definitely worth a look as a late-round pick or a free agent. Darius Davis can definitely get to the quarterback, as he notched at least 7.5 sacks in 2007.

  42. Rulon Davis, California
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 281.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.89.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.94.
    Benchx225: 20. Vertical: .
    Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.

  43. Cyril Obiozor, Texas A&M
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 264.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.72.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.72.
    Benchx225: 25. Vertical: 39.5.
    Projected Round (2009): FA.

1/9/09: Cyril Obiozor collected 6.5 TFL and three sacks in 2008.

11/16/08: Like most Aggies, Cyril Obiozor has struggled under Mike Sherman.

5/7/08: Started 13 games in 2007 and recorded 3.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss.

  44. Jeff Schweiger, San Jose State
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 275.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.89.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.72.
    Benchx225: 25. Vertical: 35.5.
    Projected Round (2009): FA.

  45. Dan Cline, Western Kentucky
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 272.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.94.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.89.
    Benchx225: 21. Vertical: 30.5.
    Projected Round (2009): FA.

  46. Maurice Lucas, Colorado
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 270.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.81.
    Projected Round (2009): FA.

11/16/08: Maurice Lucas has a whopping 1.5 sacks in 10 games this year.

  47. Aaron Lewis, Texas
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 277.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.76.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.01.
    Benchx225: . Vertical: 30.5.
    Projected Round (2009): FA.

  48. Jeremy Lomax, Georgia
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 246.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.72.
    Projected Round (2009): FA.

11/16/08: Half a sack through nine games. Bust senior year.

5/7/08: Didn’t start a game in 2007, but came in on passing downs and made an impact. Jeremy Lomax recorded 4.5 sacks last year.

  49. Antwain Robinson, Arkansas
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 255.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.79.
    Projected Round (2009): FA.

1/9/09: A disappointing senior campaign after an offseason of legal problems. That can’t be good. Antwain Robinson managed just three TFL and 1.5 sacks as a senior.

11/16/08: Just 1.5 sacks in 10 games. A slow 40 is going to kill him. 5/7/08: Antwain Robinson, who happens to be excellent against the run, has also shown the ability to get to opposing quarterbacks. He’s also very athletic and seems to be a perfect fit for any solid defense in the NFL. So, what’s the problem? Robinson was arrested for shoplifting prior to the 2007 season.

2007: Antwain Robinson, destined to be a 3-4 rush linebacker or 4-3 right end in the NFL, had 8.5 sacks and an interception as a sophomore.

  50. Eric Moncur, Miami
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 255.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.71.
    Projected Round (2009): FA.

11/16/08: Eric Moncur is out for the year with a leg injury.

5/7/08: Eric Moncur will have to become more of a factor on Miami’s defense with the sloth-like Calais Campbell gone from the line. Moncur had just 5.5 sacks in 2007 despite his overwhelming athleticism.

2007: Taking advantage of playing across from Calais Campbell, Eric Moncur managed two sacks against Marshall. His sack total should be high this year.

  51. Pierre Walters, Eastern Illinois –
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 257. Projected 40 Time: 4.74. Projected Round (2009): FA.
  52. Jarriett Buie, South Florida –
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 250. Projected 40 Time: 4.69. Projected Round (2009): FA.
