-
Trey Millard*, FB, Oklahoma
Height: 6-2. Weight: 249.
Projected 40 Time: 4.71.
Projected Round (2013): 4-6.
5/11/12: Millard is hard-nosed lead blocker who is powerful at the point of attack. He can create holes with hits on linebackers. Millard also can contribute as a short-yardage runner. He has 48 rushes for 243 yards (5.1 average) and five touchdowns in his collegiate career. The junior also has 29 receptions for 262 yards and two scores.
Millard was an All-Big XII first-teamer in 2011 and an All-Big XII Second-Team selection as a true freshman in 2010. His game is what the NFL looks for in fullbacks.
-
Trey Burton**, FB, Florida
Height: 6-3. Weight: 229.
Projected 40 Time: 4.61.
Projected Round (2013): 4-6.
5/11/12: The athletic Burton started out his career as a spread option quarterback under Urban Meyer and was moved all over the offensive formation. Burton played QB, FB, TE, WR and special teams as a freshman. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry while totaling 349 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns. Burton had a six touchdown game against Kentucky (five rushing, one receiving) that set records for the Gators.
Burton found a home at fullback in Charlie Weis' pro-style offense as a sophmore and had a quality season as a blocker. Burton also ran the ball 37 times for 125 yards and three touchdowns. Furthermore, he caught 19 passes for 149 yards and a score. Burton needs more bulk and experience, but could be a unique fullback in the NFL.
-
Zach Line, FB, SMU
Height: 6-1. Weight: 230.
Projected 40 Time: 4.69.
Projected Round (2013): 4-6.
5/11/12: Zach Line is going to have to add some bulk and power to be a true fullback in the NFL, but he is one of the most productive running fullbacks to come out in some time. Line ran for 1,224 yards (5.9 average) and 17 touchdowns as junior last year. He ran for 1,494 yards with an average of 6.1 yards per carry and 10 touchdowns in 2010, also catching 17 passes for 163 yards.
Line runs with power and has nice burst. Aking to Stanford's Toby Gerhart in the 2010 NFL Draft, Line could be considered by some teams to be a running back in the NFL. He was the Mustangs' short-yardage back in 2009 as a freshman and recorded seven touchdowns. In his career, Line has contributed as a receiver with a total of 42 receptions for 370 yards. If he can stay as productive as a senior, he should be selected in the 2012 NFL Draft.
-
Zach Boren, FB, Ohio State
Height: 6-0. Weight: 252.
Projected 40 Time: 4.79.
Projected Round (2013): 5-7.
5/11/12: Zach Boren has been a good blocker for Dan Herron and others at Ohio State. Boren is not much of a receiver with only 20 receptions for 151 yards and one touchdown in his career. He is not much of a runner either, having only one carry for two yards. Still, Boren is a powerful lead blocker who can run over defenders.
-
Devon Ramsay*, FB, North Carolina
Height: 6-2. Weight: 250.
Projected 40 Time: 4.72.
Projected Round (2013): FA.
5/11/12: Ramsay is a powerful lead blocker when playing. He was suspended for most of his sophomore season by the NCAA. He tore ligaments in his left knee during the first game of the 2011 season that caused him to miss the rest of the year. Ramsay has been awarded a medical redshirt. He also redshirted in 2007 because of a shoulder injury.
-
Jared Hassin, FB, Army
Height: 6-3. Weight: 235.
Projected 40 Time: 4.71.
Projected Round (2013): FA.
5/11/12: Hassin ran for 450 yards (4.6 average) with one touchdown in 2011. He ran for 1,013 yards and nine touchdowns in 2010, averaging 5.3 yards per carry. Hassin was impressive with big games against Rutgers and Tulane that year. If he can stay an effective runner while adding some bulk and improving his pass receiving, he could make the case to get drafted.
-
Braden Wilson*, FB, Kansas State
Height: 6-4. Weight: 254.
Projected 40 Time: 4.81.
Projected Round (2013): FA.
5/11/12: Wilson had a strong junior year blocking for Colin Klein and John Hubert. Wilson served as a lead blocker for running back Daniel Thomas in the previous two seasons. He is a big, powerful blocker who fits the old-school type of blocking fullback.
Wilson has a total of 13 receptions for 110 yards and 15 carries for 31 yards and a score in his career. He will have to show more than just lead-blocking ability to be anything more than an undrafted free agent.
