Athletic and agile
Long arms
Burst off snap
Creates turnovers
Versatile
Well rounded
Weaknesses: Lacking elite speed and strength
Not a proven pass rusher
Needs to improve tackling consistency
Overruns plays too often
Only average instincts
Hesitant run defender
Summary: Akeem Ayers is an interesting prospect. He has versatility and experience at different positions. However, while is frame says outside linebacker in a 3-4, he is probably best suited inside in that scheme or on the strong side in a 4-3 at linebacker. Some team might want him to add weight and play defensive end in their 4-3. Better yet, teams running a hybrid front might be intrigued with Ayers.
