2011 Pro Day Results: March 31, 2011

North Carolina

Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina
Height: 6-2. Weight: 309.
Projected 40 Time: 4.88.
Combine 40 Time: 4.80.
Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
Benchx225: 38. Vertical: 30.5. Arm: 32 5/8.
Projected Round (2011): 1-2.

4/1/11: Marvin Austin had a great Pro Day, prompting Mike Mayock to state that he’d be surprised if Austin weren’t picked between 20 and 32.

Kendric Burney, CB, North Carolina
Height: 5-9. Weight: 190.
Projected 40 Time: 4.45.
Combine 40 Time: 4.72.
Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
Benchx225: 14. Vertical: 32.5. Arm: 29 1/4.
Projected Round (2011): 3-5.

4/1/11: After running a pedestrian 4.72 at the Combine, Kendric Burney curiously declined to attempt the 40 again at North Carolina’s Pro Day. He also worsened his vertical by 2.5 inches. On the bright side, however, Mike Mayock thinks he’ll be a good player in a Cover-2 scheme.

Bruce Carter, OLB, North Carolina
Height: 6-2. Weight: 241.
Projected 40 Time: 4.60.
Combine 40 Time: DNP.
Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
Benchx225: 25. Vertical: . Arm: 32 5/8.
Projected Round (2011): 2-3.

4/1/11: Bruce Carter couldn’t do anything at North Carolina’s Pro Day because he’s recovering from a torn ACL.

Greg Little, WR, North Carolina

Projected 40 Time: 4.55.
Combine 40 Time: 4.56.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.53.
Vertical: 40.5. Broad: 10-9. Hand: 9 1/8.
Projected Round (2011): 2-4.

4/1/11: Greg Little has been drawing rave reviews lately. He’d be a sure-fire second-round prospect if it weren’t for the character concerns.

Robert Quinn, DE/OLB, North Carolina Scouting Report
Height: 6-4. Weight: 265.
Projected 40 Time: 4.60.
Combine 40 Time: 4.67.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.58.
Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 34. Arm: 34.
Projected Round (2011): Top 10 Pick.

4/1/11: Robert Quinn had a phenomenal workout at North Carolina’s Pro Day. He ran a 4.58 40 and looked great in the drills. Mike Mayock, Michael Lombardi and Steve Wyche all agreed that Quinn will be a top-10 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Mayock also said that Quinn can’t pass drop, but quickly added that DeMarcus Ware couldn’t pass drop either coming out of Troy. “Robert Quinn at age 20 has untapped potential,” Mayock said. “Gun to the head today, I’m taking Quinn over Da’Quan Bowers.”

Quan Sturdivant, LB, North Carolina
Height: 6-1. Weight: 241.
Projected 40 Time: 4.60.
Combine 40 Time: DNP.

Height: 5-10. Weight: 210.
Projected 40 Time: N/A.
Combine 40 Time: 4.53.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.53.
Benchx225: . Vertical: 32.5. Broad: 9-8.
Projected Round (2011): 5-7.

Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina
Height: 6-2. Weight: 205.
Projected 40 Time: 4.45.
Combine 40 Time: DNP.
Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
Benchx225: . Vertical: . Arm: 33 1/4.
Projected Round (2011): 3-5.

4/1/11: Deunta Williams is still recovering from a leg injury he suffered late in the year, so he didn’t run or jump at North Carolina’s Pro Day.

Stephen F. Austin

Jabara Williams, OLB, Stephen F. Austin
Height: 6-2. Weight: 228.
Projected 40 Time: N/A.
Combine 40 Time: DNP.

Projected Round (2011): 6-FA.

4/1/11: The unknown Jabara Williams from Stephen F. Austin had a terrific workout at his Pro Day on Thursday in front of 10 teams, prompting Gil Brandt to speculate that Williams could be chosen late on Day 3.
