    Breaking News:
Corey Williams has been traded to the Browns. Jeff Faine signed with the Buccaneers. Isaac Bruce was cut. For more moves, go to my 2008 NFL Free Agency Page.

The Panthers have cut linebacker Dan Morgan, while the Dolphins have released Zach Thomas.

After looking for what seems like decades, Daniel Snyder has found a new head coach. Jim Zorn. I don't know... Sorry Skins fans, that sucks.

The Falcons have hired Jaguars defensive coordinator Mike Smith to be their new head coach. Who? Yeah, I don't know either.

Baltimore has hired John Harbaugh to be its new head coach. Harbaugh was a special-teams coordinator in Philadelphia for a number of years.

The Dolphins have hired Tony Sparano to be their next head coach.

Look out Alex Smith and Shaun Hill - you might just get sacked 100 times in 2008! The 49ers have hired Mike Martz.

Joe Gibbs has resigned as head coach of the Redskins so he could pursue his dream of once again watching cars drive in circles.

Warren Sapp has announced his retirement. Sapp, 35, played 13 seasons and qualified for seven Pro Bowls.

Brian Billick and Cam Cameron were fired by the Ravens and Dolphins, respectively. Billick can now retire to his Vermont country home with his lovely wife, Kyle Boller, Cameron, meanwhile, no longer has to worry about the stress of coaching a fourth preseason game and deciding whom to cut at the same time.

Randy Mueller was also fired. Golly gee whiz geepers!

Congratulations to the Patriots, who became the first team to go 16-0 in the regular season in NFL history.

The Dolphins have hired Bill Parcells, who will undoubtedly yell and scream, and hurt some players' feelings.

Redskins safety Sean Taylor, who was shot Monday morning when a burglar broke into his house, died after sustaining a massive loss of blood. Taylor, who had five interceptions on the year, was a Pro Bowler and one of the leaders of the team. He was 24.

Miami traded Chris Chambers to the Chargers for a second-round pick.

The Buccaneers acquired Michael Bennett from the Chiefs for an undisclosed 2008 or 2009 draft selection.

The Browns traded Charlie Frye to the Seahawks for an undisclosed draft pick.

Key players out for the year after Week 1: Orlando Pace (Rams), Mike Brown (Bears), Dusty Dvoracek (Bears), Yeremiah Bell (Dolphins), Jason Ferguson (Cowboys) and Jason Simmons (starting safety for the Texans.)

Josh McCown has been named the starter in Oakland. Meanwhile, Browns cornerback Leigh Bodden was arrested. Check this out for more details: NFL Draft Rumors and news speculations.

The Buccaneers signed Jeremiah Trotter. The Broncos inked Simeon Rice.

The Jets traded disgruntled guard Pete Kendall to the Redskins for a fourth-round pick, reports ProFootballTalk.com. Kendall will take the spot vacated by Derrick Dockery, who signed with the Bills this offseason.

Larry Johnson concluded his 3-week hold out and signed a 5-year extension with the Chiefs.

    The Eagles released Jeremiah Trotter.

Michael Vick has agreed to plead guilty to charges of federal dogfighting conspiracy. It will become official on Aug. 27.

Bill Walsh, former coach of the San Francisco 49ers and creator of the West Coast offense, died Monday of leukemia. He was 75.

This has nothing to do with football, but it's important sports-related news nonetheless. Wake Forest head basketball coach Skip Prosser collapsed and died while jogging on Thursday, July 26. Prosser was 56.

Colts left tackle Tarik Glenn apparently likes doing impressions of Chiefs offensive linemen. Glenn, one of the top tackles in the league, has announced his retirement, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Michael Vick has finally been indicted for killing innocent dogs. I mean, uhhh... allegedly killing innocent dogs.

The Dolphins released Daunte Culpepper. Hey, didn't they cut him like five months ago?

Bill Maas is out at FOX after cops found something like 5 million tons of ecstasy in his car. Nothing wrong with that. As for Maas getting fired from FOX? I'm upset - one less on-air personality to make fun of.

The Bears have finally cut ties with Tank Johnson, releasing the beleaguered defensive tackle. Question: Is it smart to cut a guy who has about a million rounds of ammunition in his house? Hope GM Jerry Angelo makes it through the year.
