2015 NFL Mock Draft: Round 3

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Arie Kouandjio, G, Alabama
    The Buccaneers spent their second-round pick on an offensive tackle in this mock draft, but they also need help at the guard position.

  2. Tennessee Titans: Steve Nelson, CB, Oregon State
    Most teams that pick a franchise quarterback usually go after an offensive weapon or a blocker in the following round. The Titans are so desperate at corner, however, that they could potentially break that rule in Round 2.

  3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Hroniss Grasu, C, Oregon
    It’s no secret that the Jaguars need help on their offensive line, even after signing Jermey Parnell. The center position has been a problem since Brad Meester retired.

  4. Oakland Raiders: Jeremiah Poutasi, OT/G, Utah
    The Raiders also have to improve the offensive line, as another guard is needed to go along with Gabe Jackson.

  5. Washington Redskins: Anthony Harris, S, Virginia
    The issues the Redskins have in their secondary are pretty well documented. They were counting on Ryan Clark this past year, which proved to be disastrous because the former Steeler was way past his prime.

  6. New York Jets: Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA
    The Jets have a new front office, so they may want to bring in their own quarterback. Having Brett Hundley sit for a year or two would make sense.

  7. Chicago Bears: James Sample, S, Louisville
    This pick should surprise no one, as the Bears need secondary help at both cornerback and safety. Chicago signed Antrel Rolle this offseason, but he’s just a short-term solution at the safety position. Here’s someone who might be able to start there in the future.

  8. St. Louis Rams: Preston Smith, DE, Mississippi State
    Another defensive lineman? Why not? The Rams could stand to grab another defensive end, given that Chris Long will be owed close to $12 million in his contract year next season.

  9. Atlanta Falcons: A.J. Cann, G, South Carolina
    The Falcons lost starting guard Justin Blalock this offseason, so they could obtain a replacement with one of their second-day selections.

  10. New York Giants: Tre Jackson, G, Florida State
    The Giants have to address their offensive line at some point. They could look for an upgrade up front with their first-round pick. If they don’t, they’ll have to target an upgrade at the right tackle or guard position on the second day to keep Eli Manning upright.

  11. New Orleans Saints: D’Joun Smith, CB, Florida Atlantic
    The Saints desperately have to upgrade their pass defense, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone if they double up on cornerbacks in the early stages of the 2015 NFL Draft.

  12. Minnesota Vikings: Duke Johnson, RB, Miami
    It appears as though Adrian Peterson won’t be back in Minnesota next year, so the Vikings may want to grab a second-day running back to pair with Jerick McKinnon.



  13. Cleveland Browns: Nate Orchard, DE/OLB, Utah
    Barkevious Mingo does a lot of things well, but he’s not great in terms of rushing the passer. The Browns need to think about getting another player who can get to the quarterback.

  14. New Orleans Saints: Devin Funchess, TE, Michigan
    The Saints traded away Jimmy Graham this offseason, so they’ll be in the market for another tight end.

  15. San Francisco 49ers: Kwon Alexander, LB, LSU
    The 49ers are both inept and unfortunate. They said goodbye to Patrick Willis and Chris Borland this offseason, and now they have to find another inside linebacker to go along with the injured NaVorro Bowman.

  16. Kansas City Chiefs: Justin Hardy, WR, East Carolina
    It’s amazing that the Chiefs went the entire year without having any of their receivers score a single touchdown. Alex Smith was partly to blame, but the receiving corps was just abysmal.



  17. Buffalo Bills: Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State
    The Bills signed Matt Cassel for the short term, but they obviously still need to find a quarterback of the future.

  18. Houston Texans: Dezmin Lewis, WR, Central Arkansas
    The Texans lost Andre Johnson to the Colts, so they’ll need a No. 2 wideout across from DeAndre Hopkins.

  19. San Diego Chargers: Tyler Lockett, WR, Kansas State
    The Chargers could use some help at receiver, as Malcom Floyd will be 34 next season, while Eddie Royal signed elsewhere. Stevie Johnson was brought in, but some competition for him wouldn’t hurt.

  20. Philadelphia Eagles: Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon
    Chip Kelly would probably suffer a seizure if he went this long without obtaining one of his former players. The Eagles could double up at cornerback considering the need.



  21. Cincinnati Bengals: Cedric Ogbuehi, OT, Texas A&M
    The Bengals could be looking for a left tackle of the future, given that Andrew Whitworth turns 34 at the end of this upcoming season.

  22. Arizona Cardinals: Charles Gaines, CB, Louisville
    The Cardinals lost Antonio Cromartie this offseason, so they’ll be looking to upgrade the cornerback position early during the draft.

  23. Pittsburgh Steelers: Markus Golden, DE/OLB, Missouri
    The Steelers hate drafting edge rushers early on because of scheme transition issues, but they really need to upgrade their pass rush. It was better at the end of the season, but James Harrison won’t be back with the team next year.

    It might be surprising to see Markus Golden this low, but as Charlie Campbell reported in the NFL Draft Rumor Mill, multiple teams are grading Golden as a third-round prospect.

  24. Detroit Lions: Corey Robinson, OT, South Carolina
    The Lions were really hurting on the offensive line this past season, which would explain why their offense sputtered so much. They have to upgrade multiple positions, including right tackle.



  25. Carolina Panthers: Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State
    Jonathan Stewart finished the year on a strong note, but the Panthers can’t depend on him because he’s so frequently banged up. With DeAngelo Williams officially gone, Carolina will have to add another running back.

  26. Baltimore Ravens: Clive Walford, TE, Miami
    The Ravens already lost Owen Daniels this offseason, and no one is sure if Dennis Pitta will be able to play this year, so the front office could be targeting a tight end early in the 2015 NFL Draft.

  27. Dallas Cowboys: Mike Davis, RB, South Carolina
    DeMarco Murray was too expensive to keep, so the plan was for Joseph Randle to become the new starting running back. The problem is that Randle was recently arrested for drug possession and domestic violence, so he could be suspended. If so, Dallas may spend a second-day selection on a back.

  28. Denver Broncos: Jeff Heuerman, TE, Ohio State
    The Broncos lost Julius Thomas to the Jaguars, so here’s a replacement at tight end. Denver could take Maxx Williams in Round 1, but something like this is more likely.

  29. Indianapolis Colts: Obum Gwachum, DE, Oregon State
    The Colts have a couple of veteran edge rushers, but they’ll need some young blood at the position to eventually take over.

  30. Green Bay Packers: Jacoby Glenn, CB, Central Florida
    The Packers lost both Tramon Williams and Davon House this offseason, so they’ll need to replenish depth at cornerback.

  31. Seattle Seahawks: Grady Jarrett, DT, Clemson
    The Seahawks were really missing Brandon Mebane. They need some help at defensive tackle, even once Mebane returns from his hamstring injury next year.

  32. New England Patriots: Michael Bennett, DT, Ohio State
    Once again, it must be noted that the Patriots have a number of players at the defensive tackle position heading into their contract years by the 2016 season, so this is a selection for the future.

  33. New England Patriots: David Johnson, RB, Northern Iowa
    The Patriots lost Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen this offseason, meaning Bill Belichick will have to count on LeGarrette Blount. I’m not sure he wants to do that.

  34. Kansas City Chiefs: Max Garcia, C, Florida
    Rodney Hudson signed with the Raiders this offseason, so the Chiefs will want to find a new center.

    The Bengals will be interested in some cornerback depth with Terence Newman no longer on the roster.
