  1. Cleveland Browns: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC
The Browns lost Terrelle Pryor, so they could use one of their many second-day selections on a replacement.

  2. San Francisco 49ers: Raekwon McMillan, LB, Ohio State
NaVorro Bowman is coming off yet another injury, while Gerald Hodges happens to be a free agent. Inside linebacker help is needed if Hodges isn’t retained.

  3. Chicago Bears: Carlos Henderson, WR, Louisiana Tech
The Bears lost Alshon Jeffery this offseason, while Kevin White has yet to prove that he can remain healthy. Using an early-round selection on a receiver makes a lot of sense.

Pick change; previously Chidobe Awuzie, CB

  4. Jacksonville Jaguars: David Sharpe, OT, Florida
The Jaguars traded for Branden Albert, but they’d be crazy not to secure a long-term option at left tackle, given Albert’s extensive injury history.

Pick change; previously Taylor Moton, OT

  5. Los Angeles Rams: Noah Brown, WR, Ohio State
The Rams overpaid for Robert Woods, but hopefully that doesn’t mean they’ll select a terrible receiver in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Pick change; previously Carlos Henderson, WR

  6. New York Jets: Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington
Brandon Marshall was released and then signed with the Giants. New York needs a new receiver to replace Marshall.

  7. Los Angeles Chargers: Trey Hendrickson, DE, Florida Atlantic
The Chargers have mostly been using Joey Bosa on the defensive line, so they could stand to find another outside linebacker to play across from Melvin Ingram.

  8. New England Patriots: Tarell Basham, DE, Ohio
The Patriots traded for Kony Ealy, but it still wouldn’t surprise me if they obtained another defensive end after losing Chris Long.

  9. Cincinnati Bengals: Carlos Watkins, DT, Clemson
We’ll see how Andrew Billings develops, but as it stands now, the Bengals need a tremendous amount of help in their defensive interior next to Geno Atkins.

Pick change; previously Dalvin Tomlinson, DT

  10. Baltimore Ravens: Dalvin Tomlinson, DT, Alabama
The Ravens just traded Timmy Jernigan to the Eagles – check out my NFL Trade Grades page, which includes a poll – so they’ll need to address their defensive line. They already needed help up front.

  11. Buffalo Bills: Bucky Hodges, TE, Virginia Tech
The Bills have tried to sign some tight ends in free agency, so perhaps that’s a direction they plan on going early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

  12. New Orleans Saints: Nico Siragusa, G, San Diego State
The Saints have taken care of big problem areas on defense already. They can now turn their attention toward the offense, which could be even better if Drew Brees had stronger interior protection. Anothr guard is needed in addition to Larry Warford.

  13. Arizona Cardinals: Justin Evans, S, Texas A&M
Tony Jefferson was a big loss for the Cardinals, so the safety position will have to be upgraded early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Pick change; previously Josh Jones, S

  14. Baltimore Ravens: Malachi Dupre, WR, LSU
The Ravens were hoping to sign Torrey Smith, but he opted to join the Eagles instead. I’m sure the Ravens will look into selecting a receiver at some point.

  15. Minnesota Vikings: D’Onta Foreman, RB, Texas
The Vikings cut Adrian Peterson, and their best replacement might just be Latavius Murray, which doesn’t sound very good.

  16. Indianapolis Colts: Derek Rivers, DE/OLB, Youngstown State
It shouldn’t surprise anyone if the Colts use multiple selections on edge rushers to rectify their inability to get to the quarterback.

Pick change; previously Marlon Mack, RB

  17. Washington Redskins: Nathan Peterman, QB, Pittsburgh
It’s difficult to imagine Kirk Cousins being on Washington’s roster beyond this year. Cousins is likely to go to San Francisco, which is why I don’t have the 49ers taking a quarterback in this mock draft. It might not be a bad idea for the Redskins to select a potential successor.

  18. Denver Broncos: Sidney Jones, CB, Washington
The Broncos are the sort of team that can afford to wait on Sidney Jones. It makes sense from a needs perspective as well. T.J. Ward is entering his contract year. If he leaves and is replaced by Bradley Roby, that’ll open up a void at cornerback, which Jones can fill in 2018 and beyond.

Pick change; previously Julie’n Davenport, OT

  19. Tennessee Titans: Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson
Delanie Walker has had some great years with the Titans, but he turns 33 in August and will be set to make about $6 million in 2018, so Tennessee could use an early pick on a tight end.

Pick change; previously Cameron Sutton, CB

  20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Marcus Maye, S, Florida
The Buccaneers had major problems at safety throughout the year, so they could obviously take a player at that position much earlier than this. J.J. Wilcox was signed, but for only a 2-year deal.

Pick change; previously Justin Evans, S

  21. Detroit Lions: Kareem Hunt, RB, Toledo
The Lions can’t count on Ameer Abdullah, as he hasn’t been able to stay healthy in either of his two seasons. The front office could take a running back on the second day of the draft.

  22. Minnesota Vikings: Ethan Pocic, C/G, LSU
More offensive line help is needed in addition to signing Riley Reiff and Mike Remmers. Brandon Fusco was released, but he needed to be upgraded anyway. Minnesota could pick Ethan Pocic, as he can also play center if needed.

  23. New York Giants: Marlon Mack, RB, South Florida
The Giants have released Rashad Jennings, so they could spend an early-round selection on a running back to pair with Paul Perkins.

Pick change; previously Blair Brown, LB

  24. Oakland Raiders: Brian Hill, RB, Wyoming
Latavius Murray went to Minnesota, so all the Raiders have left at running back are DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard.

  25. Houston Texans: Julie’n Davenport, OT, Bucknell
Derek Newton’s career might be over, and there’s a huge void on the right side as a result. Tackle help is desperately needed.

Pick change; previously Dalvin Tomlinson, DT

  26. Seattle Seahawks: Cordrea Tankersley, CB, Clemson
I think two early cornerbacks makes a lot of sense for the Seahawks, as they would use Cordrea Tankersley outside, across from Richard Sherman, and Adoree Jackson in the slot. Tankersley, like Jackson, is a great fit for Seattle.

Pick change; previously Eddie Vanderdoes, DT

  27. Kansas City Chiefs: Jalen Tabor, CB, Florida
The Chiefs were able to get quality play out of Terrance Mitchell down the stretch last year, but that could’ve been a fluke. A cornerback should be added just in case.

Pick change; previously Joe Mixon, RB

  28. Dallas Cowboys: Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado
As mentioned in the first round, the Cowboys are expected to address the defense early and often. Cornerback help is sorely needed with Morris Claiborne gone. As luck would have it, this class is stacked at corner.

Pick change; previously Marcus Maye, CB

  29. Green Bay Packers: T.J. Logan, RB, North Carolina
Eddie Lacy is gone, and Ty Mongomery doesn’t seem like a long-term solution at running back, so something will need to be done to bolster this position.

  30. Pittsburgh Steelers: ArDarius Stewart, WR, Alabama
Martavis Bryant has an expiring contract after 2017, and Pittsburgh may decide that it can’t rely on him. Ben Roethlisberger had no downfield options outside of Antonio Brown in his playoff loss to the Patriots.

Pick change; previously Noah Brown, WR

  31. Atlanta Falcons: Larry Ogunjobi, DT, Charlotte
The Falcons could stand to upgrade the interior of their defensive line, and they could be targeting someone athletic like Larry Ogunjobi. Dontari Poe was signed, but for just a 1-year deal.

  32. New England Patriots: Montravius Adams, DE/DT, Auburn
The Patriots never found an interior threat after releasing Dominique Easley, so here’s their chance to do so.

  33. Miami Dolphins: Isaac Asiata, G, Utah
The Dolphins traded away Branden Albert, but that’s fine for their left tackle situation because Laremy Tunsil can slide outside. However, that’ll open up a hole at guard, which will need to be addressed early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Pick change; previously Dawuane Smoot, DE

  34. Carolina Panthers: Taylor Moton, OT, Western Michigan
The Panthers signed Matt Kalil, which was a dubious move, to say the least. Even if he pans out, they’ll still need another offensive tackle.

Pick change; previously Antonio Garcia, OT

  35. Philadelphia Eagles: James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh
The Eagles like James Conner and would want to select him around this area. They have an obvious need at running back that needs to be addressed.

  36. Tennessee Titans: Dawuane Smoot, DE/OLB, Illinois
This is a value pick for the Titans, as they could use depth at outside linebacker. Kevin Dodd was selected last year, but he struggled as a rookie.

Pick change; previously Jordan Leggett, TE

  37. Denver Broncos: Charles Walker, DT, Oklahoma
Here’s more defensive line help for the Broncos, as Charles Walker appears to be a nice fit in Denver’s scheme.

  38. Seattle Seahawks: Eddie Vanderdoes, DT, UCLA
Prior to the 2016 NFL Draft, one team thought the Seahawks were going to select Robert Nkemdiche. Seattle could use another interior pass-rusher to help the secondary out if there are injuries once again.

  39. New Orleans Saints: Chad Hansen, WR, California
The Saints lost Brandin Cooks in a trade with the Patriots, so why not use one of the picks they required on a replacement wideout?

  40. Kansas City Chiefs: Jake Butt, TE, Michigan
Andy Reid loves using multiple tight ends, so this is an option despite Travis Kelce being on the roster. This is some major value, as Jake Butt getting hurt caused him to drop two rounds.

  41. Pittsburgh Steelers: Duke Riley, LB, LSU
Lawrence Timmons has signed with Miami, so the Steelers will have to find a new inside linebacker to play alongside Ryan Shazier.

  42. Seattle Seahawks: George Kittle, TE, Iowa
George Kittle is the sort of athletic player the Seahawks like. He could start in 2018 if Jimmy Graham isn’t retained as a free agent then.

Pick change; previously Adam Shaheen, TE

  43. New York Jets: Tyler Orlosky, C, West Virginia
The Jets cut Nick Mangold for financial purposes, so they’ll need to replace him early in the 2017 NFL Draft if they don’t get anyone in free agency.
