  1. Cleveland Browns: Sony Michel, RB, Georgia
If the Browns do the insanely foolish thing and pass on Saquon Barkley with the first-overall pick, they’ll be looking at someone like Sony Michel or Ronald Jones atop Round 2. Both of those prospects have great potential, but neither is the dynamic, game-changing athlete Barkley is.

Pick change; previously Brian O’Neill, OT

  2. New York Giants: Lorenzo Carter, DE/OLB, Georgia
Bradley Chubb has been discussed as an option for the Giants at No. 2 overall. Perhaps they’d take Chubb if the Browns did the sensible thing. However, that’s not likely to happen, and the Giants can just obtain a talented edge rusher atop the second frame anyway. New York needs one in the wake of Jason Pierre-Paul’s departure.

Pick change; previously Ronald Jones, RB

  3. Cleveland Browns: Brian O’Neill, OT, Pittsburgh
Joe Thomas has retired, so the Browns will need to spend an early resource on a left tackle. Unfortunately for them, there aren’t many exciting options in this draft class.

Pick change; previously Harrison Phillips, DT

  4. Indianapolis Colts: Ronald Jones, RB, USC
Frank Gore is gone, and Jim Irsay hinted that his team would use an early-round selection on a running back. There’s a report in our NFL Draft Rumors page that the Colts like Ronald Jones.

Pick change; previously Kerryon Johnson, RB

  5. Indianapolis Colts: Mike Hughes, CB, Central Florida
Vontae Davis is officially gone, as he signed with the Bills. The Colts had just one viable cornerback in Rashaan Melvin, but he signed elsewhere as well. Here’s some needed help for the secondary.

Pick change; previously Donte Jackson, CB

  6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Derrius Guice, RB, LSU
As mentioned in the first round, the Buccaneers really need to make sure Jameis Winston plays better in 2018. Part of that will require finding a better running back to replace Doug Martin, who was recently cut.

  7. Chicago Bears: Isaiah Oliver, CB, Colorado
The Bears signed a couple of cornerbacks to contracts this offseason, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not looking for another one. They’ve shown plenty of interest in many of the cornerbacks in this class, including Isaiah Oliver.

Pick change; previously Billy Price, C/G

  8. Denver Broncos: Kyle Lauletta, QB, Richmond
There’s some debate on my Facebook wall right now about whether or not the Broncos will pass on Josh Rosen at No. 5 overall. If they do, Kyle Lauletta is someone they could target at this spot. I think Denver would take Lauletta over Mason Rudolph.

Pick change; previously Mason Rudolph, QB

  9. Oakland Raiders: Harrison Phillips, DT, Stanford
The Raiders attempted to sign Ndamukong Suh this offseason, but failed. I expect them to obtain an interior disruptor in the first couple of rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Pick change; previously Sony Michel, RB

  10. Miami Dolphins: Dallas Goedert, TE, South Dakota State
The Dolphins could add another offensive weapon. Addressing tight end makes sense, given that the team doesn’t even have one.

Pick change; previously Hayden Hurst, TE

  11. New England Patriots: Mason Rudolph, QB, Oklahoma State
Kyle Lauletta seems to match up with the Patriots want most from a quarterback, which is why it’s imperative for Denver to take him at No. 40 if the team truly wants him. New England, however, has other options at the position.

Pick change; previously D.J. Chark, WR

  12. Washington Redskins: Kerryon Johnson, RB, Auburn
The Redskins are looking for a new running back, as all the options they have at the position are pretty lackluster.

Pick change; previously Connor Williams, OT/G

  13. Green Bay Packers: Justin Reid, S, Stanford
The Packers lost Morgan Burnett this offseason, which was a crushing blow to their already-troubled defense. They’ll have to spend multiple early picks on defensive backs.

  14. Cincinnati Bengals: Ronnie Harrison, S, Alabama
Cincinnati’s defense has never been the same since losing Reggie Nelson. The Bengals failed to find a replacement in free agency, so here’s their opportunity to bolster their safety situation.

  15. Arizona Cardinals: Tyrell Crosby, OT, Oregon
The Cardinals have a big hole at right tackle, which they will need to address early in the draft so that they can properly protect Sam Bradford and their rookie quarterback.

Pick change; previously Mike Hughes, CB

  16. Los Angeles Chargers: Jessie Bates, S, Wake Forest
The Chargers probably should’ve taken Malik Hooker seventh overall last April. Here’s another chance to potentially get an upgrade at the position.

  17. Indianapolis Colts: Donte Jackson, CB, LSU
The Colts have three second-round picks, and two of them could be used on cornerbacks. That’s how dire the situation is for Indianapolis at that position.

Pick change; previously Isaiah Oliver, CB

  18. Dallas Cowboys: Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis
There are rumblings that the Cowboys will cut Dez Bryant following the draft. They need a new No. 1 receiver, as Bryant has regressed in recent seasons.

  19. Detroit Lions: Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia
The Lions need to spend an early resource to improve their dreadful ground game. They could take a running back as early as No. 20 overall, but this makes sense as well.

Pick change; previously Frank Ragnow, C

  20. Baltimore Ravens: Orlando Brown, OT, Oklahoma
The offensive line must be upgraded, and Orlando Brown would start immediately at right tackle, which was a big problem area for Baltimore. Brown, despite struggling at the combine, would continue the legacy of his late, great father, who was a dominant presence for Baltimore in the late 90s.

  21. Buffalo Bills: Billy Price, C/G, Ohio State
As mentioned in the opening round, the Bills lost so many resources on their offensive line this offseason. It wouldn’t be surprising if two of their initial three selections are used on new blockers.

Billy Price tore his pectoral at the combine, which is why he has taken a tumble recently. I expect him to be chosen between Nos. 30 and 55.

Pick change; previously Trenton Thompson, DT

  22. Kansas City Chiefs: Dorance Armstrong, DE/OLB, Kansas
Tamba Hali is as good as gone, so the Chiefs need to find another potent edge rusher to start across from Justin Houston.

  23. Carolina Panthers: Hayden Hurst, TE, South Carolina
There was talk earlier in the offseason that Greg Olsen would retire and take a broadcasting job. It sounds like that’ll happen in the near future, so here’s a similar selection to the Chargers taking Hunter Henry to eventually replace Antonio Gates.

Pick change; previously Mike Gesicki, TE

  24. Buffalo Bills: D.J. Chark, WR, LSU
There was a disturbing video of Zay Jones released this offseason, so it’s unclear if Buffalo can count on him going forward. If not, that just leaves Kelvin Benjamin, so a new No. 2 receiver will be needed.

Pick change; previously Kalen Ballage, RB

  25. Tennessee Titans: Sam Hubbard, DE, Ohio State
Edge rusher is a big need for the Titans, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they sink multiple resources into the position in the first few rounds of the draft.

Pick change; previously Christian Kirk, WR

  26. Atlanta Falcons: Braden Smith, G, Auburn
The Falcons have one major liability on the offensive line, and that would be at right guard. Here’s their opportunity to fix that weakness.

  27. San Francisco 49ers: Connor Williams, G/OT, Texas
The 49ers are going to use another pick on a position that they pursued in free agency, but failed to address. They tried to sign Andrew Norwell, but he went to Jacksonville. Here’s their new guard.

Connor Williams is seen by many as a tackle, but some NFL personnel believe that because of a lack of length, he’ll have to play guard even though he’s not really strong enough to play guard.

  28. Pittsburgh Steelers: B.J. Hill, NT, N.C. State
The Steelers were woeful against the run last year when Ryan Shazier went down. Shazier’s absence wasn’t the only reason for that, as Pittsburgh needs a bigger body up front to clog running lanes.

Pick change; previously Nick Chubb, RB

  29. Jacksonville Jaguars: Mark Andrews, TE, Oklahoma
The Jaguars could use a new tight end, as they signed Austin Seferian-Jenkins as a short-term solution, but then ended up cutting Marcedes Lewis.

  30. Minnesota Vikings: Nathan Shepherd, DT, Fort Hays State
There have been reports indicating that Sharrif Floyd may never play again, which is a shame. Sheldon Richardson was signed, but for just one year. Here’s a long-term plan at the position.

  31. New England Patriots: Terrell Edmunds, LB/S, Virginia Tech
The Patriots desperately need help at linebacker, as the injury-prone Dont’a Hightower is their only viable starter at the position.

Pick change; previously Josey Jewell, LB

  32. Cleveland Browns: Trenton Thompson, DT, Georgia
The Browns acquired several players recently, but they did manage to trade one away. That was Danny Shelton, a run-plugger. Larry Ogunjobi will take his place, but Cleveland needs an interior rusher to start next to Ogunjobi.

Pick change; previously Arden Key, DE
