  1. Cleveland Browns: Eddie Jackson, S, Alabama
The Browns lost Tashaun Gipson this year. Outside of a mid-round selection, they didn’t really address that hole, so they could do that early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

  2. San Francisco 49ers: Darren Carrington, WR, Oregon
I don’t understand why the 49ers avoided addressing the receiver position until late in the 2016 NFL Draft. How did they not realize that they have such a huge need in that area?

  3. Los Angeles Rams: Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama
Here’s where Cam Robinson falls in this mock draft. Robinson, who was slotted eighth overall in a previous update, was arrested for a felony weapons charge, but the Rams have shown that they don’t care about drafting players with character concerns. Robinson could play left tackle, where Greg Robinson has been a disappointment thus far.

  4. Miami Dolphins: Davon Godchaux, DT, LSU
The Dolphins could stand to add some help for Ndamukong Suh in the interior, as Earl Mitchell doesn’t exactly cause opposing offensive coordinators to lose sleep at night.

  5. Detroit Lions: Conor McDermott, OT, UCLA
Taylor Decker can play one of the tackle spots for the Lions, but they’ll need to find someone to man the other side once Riley Reiff moves on.

  6. Atlanta Falcons: Anthony Walker, ILB, Northwestern
The Falcons are using Sean Weatherspoon, so that should tell you how dire the situation is in the middle of Atlanta’s defense.

  7. Philadelphia Eagles: Eddie Vanderdoes, DT, UCLA
The Eagles are transitioning back to the 4-3 – shifting to the 3-4 in the first place was yet another example of Chip Kelly’s utter incompetence – so they’ll need some more defensive line depth.

  8. Cleveland Browns: DeMarcus Walker, DE/DT, Florida State
Desmond Bryant, 31 in December, will be entering his contract year after the 2016 campaign, all while coming off a torn ACL. The Browns spent a third-round pick on Carl Nassib this past April, but perhaps another early choice could be used on the defensive line.

  9. New Orleans Saints: Dan Feeney, G, Indiana
Dan Feeney won’t be able to teach his teammates much until he’s a veteran, but he could provide an upgrade on the interior of the offensive line, which is a weak point of the Saints’ scoring unit right now.

  10. New York Jets: Lewis Neal, DE/OLB, LSU
The Jets just spent a third-round pick on an edge rusher, but I don’t think Jordan Jenkins will be enough to cure their need for an exterior pass-rusher.

  11. San Diego Chargers: Davis Webb, QB, California
Philip Rivers turns 35 in December, so it might be time for the Chargers to find a successor for him.

  12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Marquis Haynes, DE/OLB, Ole Miss
Noah Spence seems like a promising player to help Tampa’s defense – as long as he stays clean off the field, of course. However, the Buccaneers could stand to find another pass-rusher, as Spence alone won’t solve their inability to generate consistent heat on opposing quarterbacks.

  13. New York Giants: Carl Lawson, DE/OLB, Auburn
One of the players the Giants were targeting at No. 10 was Leonard Floyd, but they weren’t able to obtain him, thanks to the Bears’ trade. With upgrading the pass rush still a priority, they’ll be happy to land one of the talented edge rushers in the 2017 NFL Draft class.

  14. Jacksonville Jaguars: Cameron Tom, C, Southern Miss
The Jaguars have some shaky options at center right now, so this is one area they may focus on improving next offseason.

Pick change; previously Dan Voltz, C

  15. Denver Broncos: Jake Butt, TE, Michigan
If Jeff Heuerman can’t emerge from the rear of the depth chart to becoming a solid starter, the Broncos could consider someone like Jake Butt in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

  16. Chicago Bears: Chad Kelly, QB, Ole Miss
It was surprising that the Bears avoided drafting a quarterback. Perhaps they just didn’t like anyone in the 2016 class. They’ll likely choose someone early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

  17. Buffalo Bills: Skai Moore, LB, South Carolina
Three of Buffalo’s linebackers, including Manny Lawson, have expiring contracts after this season, so another second-round pick could be used on the position.

  18. Baltimore Ravens: Cordrea Tankersley, CB, Clemson
It was shocking to see the Ravens eschew all of the cornerbacks in the 2016 NFL Draft. It’s still a position of weakness that must be addressed at this juncture.

  19. Washington Redskins: Lowell Lotulelei, NT, Utah
I imagine the Redskins will regret not finding a nose tackle in the 2016 NFL Draft. It would make sense for them to do that next April.

  20. Oakland Raiders: Reuben Foster, ILB, Alabama
It was a bit surprising to see the Raiders fail to address the linebacker position, especially after seeing both Myles Jack and Darron Lee fall to them at No. 14. They may regret passing on one of the two.

  21. Dallas Cowboys: Travin Dural, WR, LSU
The Cowboys could use someone as physically talented as Dupre across from Dez Bryant, as Terrance Williams isn’t cutting it.

  22. Kansas City Chiefs: Mitch Leidner, QB, Minnesota
A fax machine error caused Alex Smith to mistakenly be ranked No. 81 in the players’ poll this offseason. The Chiefs will likely be looking for an eventual replacement/upgrade for the most mediocre quarterback in football.

  23. Cincinnati Bengals: Charles Walker, DT, Oklahoma
Andrew Billings appears to be a great value pick, but the Bengals could still stand to add some talent to the interior of their defensive line.

  24. Carolina Panthers: Marcus Williams, S, Utah
The Panthers spent most of the 2016 NFL Draft upgrading their cornerback position. The safety group also needs to be upgraded.

  25. Pittsburgh Steelers: Isaac Rochell, DE/DT, Notre Dame
The Steelers have a couple of strong starters at defensive end in Cameron Heyward and Stephon Tuitt. However, there’s almost no depth behind those two players, so that needs to change.

  26. Houston Texans: Da’Shawn Hand, DE/DT, Alabama
The Texans were expected to target a replacement for Jared Crick in the 2016 NFL Draft, but never got a chance to.

  27. Seattle Seahawks: Tim Williams, DE/OLB, Alabama
I thought there was a good chance that the Seahawks would upgrade their edge rush this offseason, but they didn’t pull the trigger. They can make amends for that at this juncture.

  28. Arizona Cardinals: Sidney Jones, CB, Washington
I liked Arizona’s pick of Harlan Miller, but I don’t think he’s enough to properly bolster their cornerback position, which needs help right now.

  29. Minnesota Vikings: Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson
Kyle Rudolph has been a disappointment thus far, so the Vikings could look into adding a tight end early in the 2017 NFL Draft if their Rudolph continues to fail to live up to expectations.

  30. Indianapolis Colts: Corey Clement, RB, Wisconsin
The Colts don’t have a promising eventual replacement for Frank Gore, so that’s something they could target early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

  31. New England Patriots: Carlos Watkins, DT, Clemson
It was odd that the Patriots neglected the defensive tackle situation in the 2016 NFL Draft, especially in the wake of cutting Dominique Easley. Perhaps they’ll make amends for that at this juncture.

  32. Green Bay Packers: Samaje Perine, RB, Oklahoma
Eddie Lacy has looked leaner in some pictures he has taken this offseason, but will this translate into better production? Perhaps, but if not, the Packers will be in the market for a new running back next offseason.
